I read somewhere today that Luton poised to splash out £700k on a striker. They would blow us out of the water if they wanted him enough.

I reckon Luton will be promoted next season

 

They are welcome to him. I just think too much of a risk to keep him and take up a squad place irrespective of what deal

Hearing Callum Connolly just released from Stockport is pretty much a done deal
28 year old main position is left centre back but can play right back or defensive mid if needed
and that David Sharpe has changed the strategy on when completed deals are announced and wants to wait until as late as possible so its unlikely any completed deals will be announced until after the transfer window officially opens on 15th
Think the Power transfer to Wigan will get announced this week.
Also told this Jake Beesley is almost a done deal.

 

Would we get money out of it since we have offered him a new deal?

I think there is a bit more to it than that. Family ties, manager connections and probably better wages.But I dont give a damm about Wigan for us it’s about mitigating Powers loss.

 

What happened to Connolly last season, looks like he missed basically all of it from December onwards?

 

No idea just posting info from a guy who was pretty accurate last season.

I think too much was made of a couple of half decent cameo performances towards the end of the season.

Wouldn’t be a major loss for me.

 

Connolly had a hamstring injury,which kept him out Jan.to the last play off semi.

 

I would think if you've got a deal done, announce it.

Sharp might have decided that announcing early signings affects what other agents start demanding, I don't know.

In any event, Sharp also has to manage the fans, and the fans don't want to hear that their captain is leaving early in the window, then be forced to wait weeks or months before we start announcing signings. That's just a simple fact he has to deal with. It doesn't matter to us if the deals are in place, we want to know what they are, who they are, and which positions still need filling.
