Simon Parker this morning convinced that Power will be off as soon as this week. The two clubs seem to be just negotiating the transfer fee as Power tells City he wants the move.

Parker mentions Michael Smith rumour but suggests a move for Beesley would suit GA's needs more.

 

it will be a nominal fee if he goes , the fans won`t be happy with smith if he arrives .

I dont mind the Power move. It's clearly for personal reasons and he wants to see his days out at "his club". I reckon they'll pay out his final year and maybe a small nominal fee on top of that, but that money might take the sting out of a Beesley fee.

We get that money, he gets nothing? They need to pay it out or as good as to agree for us to move him on. The selling club always receives that, the player gets nothing.

"Paying out the final year" is Wigan saying to City, lets say for example Power is on £3k a week, that's about £150k (roughly) that City would pay Power for this final year if he stayed. So Wigan give City that fee (and City SHOULD ask for another bit on top in my eyes) but lets say they don't, once the deal is agreed at Wigan and his contract there is sign, the contract he had at City is worth sod all and they walk away from that money to sign elsewhere.

 

I'm just guessing that the transfer fee will be the value of his final contact year and maybe a small bump more as a thanks.

Does having Power out as a sellable asset on the books help with what we can spend under the new rules?
