Preston have probably told City that they will agree to a pre season friendly if we take Smith off their hands!

Seriously though, I know its only a rumour from Nixon who is more wrong that correct and interestingly Simon Parker mentions the Power rumour today and also Beesley for the second week running, but nothing at all on Smith.

This obvious leak from Wigan is probably an unprofessional attempt at upsetting the player. I am sure GA won’t want to lose him but what can you do with an unsettled player

Yep, right footed central defender but has covered everywhere at the back if needed. He was injured from November/December ish with a hamstring problem, only came back to fitness in the play off final for 1 mins play.

 

Good signing if he has overcome his injury that kept him out for 5 months.

Can play anywhere in defence or midfield. I believe GA has tried to sign him before?

 

Thats why i aint getting any hopes of us doing anything next season ..............looks like its gonna be a steady window aimed at midtable

 

It looks a decent enough signing on paper but i have an irrational fear of players who can 'play anywhere'. Just sign them for the position they are intended. Lets make sure we have enough cover for midfield without shoehorning defenders in there cos they're 'versatile'.

 

Can he kidnap Odin in the boot of his car and bring him as well?

 

Darlington away was an experience for sure.. I went with Lenny one time and the away end was a right crush, absolutely packed out surrounded by giants, with us taking turns on our shoulders to give a running commentary and then running a gauntlet of skirmishes and missiles all the way past the cricket ground back to the coaches which already had a few windows smashed.

Yes wall collapsed behind the goal. There were running battles on the cricket field . Darlington were shocked how many City fans turned up , a night to remember in many ways . Definitely was a Wally Arnold from the Alhambra that one . Bunked off Belle Vue for the afternoon !

Definitely deep lying Kev. The Harrogate manager described him as the best counter attacking midfielder in the league before we signed him and after seeing him play I can definitely see why.

Probably not a standard defensive midfielder but still capable of being effective playing deeper and closing space.
