We definitely need a centre forward mate, probably two but I can't see Fletcher even being in the conversation. Hopefully we can move on a couple that might not get many minutes and find the best quality we can afford because at the minute it looks a real weak area.

 

Will Harris from Halifax could be worth a 12 month contract plus another year in our favour to see if he can make the step up.

 

I thought he was still in contract to be fair. Getting him on a free would probably change my opinion if he isn't asking mega money. I'd probably swap for Humps anyway and he won't be cheap so it actually might fit the budget.

Josh Hmami had a good season at Halifax scoring 15 from CM.
Definitely need a goalscoring CM as Power and Metcalfe lack goals. Power has inherited my shooting prowess!

He looked poor in the play off final,his kicking was dreadful,he looked as though the occasion was too much for him,so I don't know how he would cope at VP.

 

But by that principle, you are indicating we need to sign players more like sarcevic and pointon yet if we sign them type of players where would they play?

Would you leave out sarcevic and pointon for your new men and if so, doesn't that mean you lose their goal contributions if so?

I'm not sure that signing a striker, who fits the system, and is actually a striker and not a reformed winger (humps, Jackson), will hinder the output of the supporting players

It’s one thing playing in front of 2,000 at Salford compared with the pressure of 20,000 plus at VP and Wembley ……That’s not to GA’s liking I’m sure?

 

Talking of new keeper targets. Maybe GA is happy for Big Sam to remain number 1 with Hadi as back up?. I hope not, because we really do need a keeper to seriously challenge Walker now. I never thought Hilton was, but just cover for emergencies

 

If that's the case, it will seriously impede our chances of bringing in anyone better than Hilton because any decent keeper isn't going to want to come and bench warm all season. Likewise, I don't think big Sam will be happy stepping down to the bench if we do bring in a new number one so if that does happen, it wouldn't surprise me to see him going out on a season long loan somewhere that will use him as their first choice keeper.

 

Despite the feeling amongst some, myself included, that Walker needs to be improved on I'm not sure that Alexander will have come to the conclusion that we can get better for the same money.

I think we are in funny situation with him now where he might be worth keeping on given that the budget may not be the best and may be best used to strengthen other areas.

My opinion of how it pans out, walker starts the season as our number one and if works out then great, but if we don't reach the heights of last season he is phased out in January and his contract reaches it's natural conclusion next summer
