GA has confirmed that he has held talks with 4 players already, either in person or via Zoom, and is due to meet another target today.

I know Dodgson is enforced but Bailey is mad decision imo. 26, settled, hardworker, consistently improved with us, versatile, the absolute glue to our midfield this season (clever, picks up pockets for Norwood to find him, can turn and carry us forward, looks after the ball) and the only one that has worked alongside Norwood (where we also need that enforcer that never materialised).

We thought we could do better than Knoyle, Touray etc. We couldn't. Bailey is a level up from those imo. If we recruit properly, he's not a key player but certainly a good one. We have just made building our midfield so much harder.

Bailey would be a cracking signing. I reckon half of league 1 will be after him though and can see him ending up at MK Dons

Brad Collins is probably the best of the free agent keepers around.

 

The recruitment team patted themselves on the back for the fantastic January business so I’d expect they might just bring back and call it a day.

TBF they got a lot right last Summer. Have another Summer like that and I'll be happy. I take your point about January though, it was a huge letdown.

 

I'm not sure why we're chasing Beesley a average season at Burton last season but hardly prolific, especially if we have to pay a fee.

 

I like the look of him when I’ve seen him.

 

I'm not sure Fletcher fits the GA mould Serg. Always comes across as a bit Humphrys-esque in that he's plenty of ability but drifts on and out of games and can be absolutely bone idle.

 

On the surface I agree, seems a bit underwhelming, given his age, his stats at other clubs and given it would cost us a fair amount too I would imagine.

However, 13 goals (3pens) and 7 assists last season suggest he actually performed pretty well.

Seems to be quite good defensively as well with 158 defensive contributions, with 99 clearances.

 

Not sure on this one either Dave. Nor the Fletcher talk. Surely we can aim just a little bit higher than these?

 

After decades as a BCAFC fan my skepticism knows no bounds and I feel you could be hughley disappointed.
I'll revert back to this come the 1st game of the season and hopefully I'll be delighted at being proved completly wrong
