We will have that 25 goal a season striker. Just that Hump, Swan and Cadders will all score 8 each.

    What more do you want!

Odin Bailey and Callum Connolly released by Stockport.

Connolly was linked to us in the last window, seems like a very possible move our way. Another ex-wigan, ex-stockport, injury history, ticks all our boxes!

I thought Bailey was brilliant whenever i saw him this season. Did all the leg work around Norwood who sat in the centre circle all season, Bailey looked like he pressed for days and got involved in goals too. He played with Tilt and Touray and Salford as well as our current Stockport lot all knowing his game. Stockport fans seem baffled that Bailey is gone.

I hope we have already been in the ears of Bailey's agent. I am surprised they are releasing him. Always looked good when I have seen him, and dare I say it, a typical GA type workhorse

I'd say one of our issues towards the last few months were that teams would press Power really quickly and he'd have no choice but to go long. Bailey is so well drilled in playing with a sitting long ball passer, he could be great in our midfield, could let us go to a 3 man mid, could help take some minutes away from Metcalfe if he struggles like he was in games towards the end of the season. Metcalfe is more in the Power trait than a mobile midfielder trait in my eyes, getting a leggy Bailey type is just what we need.

Connolly to me is a no brainer too. Links to half the team and Sharpe.

Oddly just been reading their forum , it’s a very very unhappy one too, to a man they think Baileys release is nuts .

    Very strange coincidence?

“I expect to soon hear that Bailey has signed for Bradford and will then proceed to score double figures next season” .

    A mate of Sarce .

A sun journalist and Stockport fan has reported that Bailey has lucrative offers on the table which Stockport wouldnt match, that rules us out then!. Seriously, hope its a Sarce type situation where we can offer longer contract?

Club said he’s released and many say without a contract being offered at all . They wonder if it’s the start of the owners new “ sustainability” project after covering £10m annual LOSSES for the last FiVE years . Word is Challenor is leaving too. Something is afoot?

Another goal because that's 24 by my reckoning.

Blackpool fans rated CC. Solid L1 CB. Just hope his injury is recoverable.

If we sign Odin Bailey, he'd have had the exact same path as Ibou Touray - Salford => Stockport => City

As much as we should be looking to compete with Stockport not signing their old boys, they do seem to release some good players...

If we signed a low scoring creator like Bailey, though, we'd best sign someone who can actually take the chances he creates.

Im still taking Scott Banks to compete with Sarc. Good spell with us, good age, potential resale value and a decent Barnsley spell in L1.

They seem to be in a bit of turmoil according to their forum . Stuck with lots of players ( many fans don’t rate …eg Keeper) , under lengthy deals , DC ‘s future very uncertain. It may be a good time to look at what they have. EG, Moxon seems not to have got on with DC sent out on loan who was liked when at Carlisle ? Sustainability now the buzzword and abandoned plans . Strange times . It does seem that success at Wembley was critical ?

Challinor has struck me as a strange coach this season.

He's had some success, though, so he has his methods whether I like them or not.

Not my cup of tea, and you could certainly argue he should have done even better with the resources available to him.

Yeh think a few Stockport fans are starting to question him but he is a decent manager and his record there is pretty phenominal..

    21/22 - NL - Champions
    22/23 - L2 - 4th & play off final
    23/24 - L2 - Champions
    24/25 - L1 - 3rd & play off semi finals
    25/26 - L1 - 3rd & play off final, FLT runners up

Took them as close to the Championship as you can get this term. Spent a few quid on 2-3 but majority of that was money from selling Olafe to Charlton. Estimated their total budget is around 9th, guess we will never know but Cardiff, Luton, Plymouth, Huddersfield, Bolton will all be bigger than theirs. Wycombe, Reading and Blackpool are all rumoured to have decent ones too.

If GA left I wouldnt say no to somebody with that record. For 5 years it has been year on year progression.

To be fair to him, injuries hit them harder than most, especially in defence, to the extent that they had to play their top scorer at centre half for last couple of months.

Barnsley fans seem hit and miss with Banks. I caught a few of their games last season if they played a promotion chaser and he's certainly lost a bit of pace with his recent injuries. He started off well there but tailed off massively at the end and they seem to think like he was carrying another injury issue at the end. If he did start from March onwards he'd be off by the hour mark every match.

All done with the aid of massive owner funding. I don’t care how the figures have been “managed”, he’s been bankrolled . Stott admits it in the Hard Truth podcast. Eg why would he agree a deal for Mothersville at double the DoF price had negotiated with his “property developer” chum DMac ? Even their own fans are perplexed . Commercial income is hugely supported via Mark Scott’s company shirt sponsorship . ( Vita) . Yes one can say Challenor has done well. Take all the money away and ………has he done as well as Lincoln’s boss or GA for example?
