Mind you, they only want head coaches rather than management teams I think there. I think the Americans had it where someone is like a sporting director, they do all the ins and out and the HC just coaches what he is given

 

We need to prise Jatta away from Notts County. Should have spent money on him in January instead of the donkeys we signed

 

It would have taken far more than we would have been able to pay to prize him away

 

He wont be leaving Notts County if, as seems very likely now, they get promoted

 

My opinion is Alexander never really has bought into anyone playing a stricker. He slots other players into that role. Its been our weakness certainly this season.

We must improve on this in the summer

Our midfield are contributing but not as much as we need. I do expect metcalfe and pointon to do better next season.



Budget aside we must focus on this resource the most as we missed the goals.

The crowd chanting for a stricker in january was telling but the recruitment was poor.

Football is an entertainment business at the end of the day. Results are never guaranteed but you can edge your bets with proven goal scorers

 

To be honest Alexanders judgment in signing players is pretty poor and expext this season to be no different

 

Nonsense. GA is tied to the budget. Plus, how do you account for promotion last year and 4th position in first year back in league 1.

If the players that we've brought in are so poor that must mean Alexander is an incredible manager to have the record he has at the club.
This season we had a midtable budget and got a top 4 finish with nearly a full new squad compared with last season. We could win the Champions League and some on here would still dismiss him as a manager.

 

We definitely need 2, we can't just sign the 1, then if said new striker gets subbed/or injured we revert to what we've had this season, strikers who can't get anywhere near double figures. I've seen some posts down talking Beesley and Fletcher, but both of them scored 13 and 15 goals, which at league one level is a lot better than what we currently have. Jackson is decent, but I prefer him in the Sarce position, the formation we play leaves him isolated up front. I know some will say they aren't players we need if we are wanting to go up a level, but we have to have decent players at this level that are in our wage bracket/what we can afford before we start having ideas about the level above.

 

You been in the sun too long? I may not like the style he plays but I do acknowledge that he got us to 4th in L1 after promotion which means the players he signed were mostly good. January (Jacko aside) were awful though.
