    It's not an EFL committee. It is 3 people, a chairperson who's a qualified solicitor, barrister or a member of the chartered Insitute of Arbitrators and 2 from a company called sports resolutions.

    All 3 on the disciplinary commission are qualified professionals who will give their professional verdict and won't be risking their career just to help out the EFL. If it was that easy for the EFL to influence the panel then they would never lose cases but they do.

    Wrexham and Millwall now considering legal action apparently. The EFL is going to be very busy over the next few months... This could run for years. Could see a scenario where clubs attempt legal action against the EFL who in turn do the same to Southampton.

    It's all been handled very badly.
    If they'd have forfeited the game and given 'boro a 3-0 win before the second leg was played all of this could have been avoided.
    It would have been the same result at the end, set a precedent against the cheating, avoided the controversy and stopped it dragging on.

    It would have probably avoid Eckert being sacked and banned which I think is a bit of an overreaction.

    Now we're going to see it drag on all summer. What a mess.

    The written reasons for the verdict from the first hearing have been published and it is not a good look for Southampton. At first they tried to put all of the blame on the intern and say it was all him and that there was no streaming or recording being sent back to the club.

    As expected the charge 1 and 2 for Middlesborough was the reason for being thrown out of the play offs as it needed sufficient punishment to deter others from doing it. The charges for Oxford and Ipswich incidents were 3 points each reduced to 2 points as credit for accepting the charge.

    With how serious the panel have taken it, it being a systemic issue coming from the manager and pressure put on a young intern (who could easily be unpaid if most of football is anything to go by) they are fortunate to get away with it as lightly as they have.

    The Hull players will be celebrating all next week and then some time after the World Cup ends many of them will find themselves replaced by some foreign player. He always wanted to play for Hull (once they were his promoted to the Premier League)!
