While I agree with the point overall, the last time a striker was played through one on one was Jackson in the away leg at Bolton.

We can do it but not enough and then when we do we're in no way clinical enough in those opportunities.

I put the blame on our ineptitude in front of goal mostly on our manager and coaching staff, they were all primarily defenders, who actually coaches attacking nous ?
I'm fed up with this safety first approach we take into games.

We need a change of approach anyway, the 343/541 is played out now and most teams have left it behind or have a very good way of dealing the width.

GA started here with the 4231 and realised Ash Taylor and Sam Stubbs had the turning circles of a cruise ship so went 3 CBs and hasn't really looked back until late this season. I reckon it's time for wingers again.

The approach we have got us to fourth. We need to remember that when calling for change. We need a regular goal scorer a quick defender and competitors for Sarcevic and Pointon and we are good to go

Just for the name alone, we should sign Przemyslaw Placheta!

I think with the way the world is these days, that the players speak to clubs even when on holiday through video call

The approach had us top when it was fast and working well, until it stopped working well when teams figured us out around the middle of the season, and for the last half of the season our setup had us 12th in the form table from Jan 1st. Our setup needs some alteration if we want to challenge again as the downward slide well and truly kicked in at the back of the season.

Two clean sheets in our last 15 games, they were against Vale and Rotherham, toothless sides on those days who were relegated. Goals for the strikers dried up too. We started leaking too much and the back and failed to get out the gears going forward for months at the end.

I wouldn't be that surprised if that the club hasn't spoken to the players about a contract extension at all at this stage.

I dabbled in MMA agency, and while that's different as the promotion is a facilitator of competition more like the FA than a football club, the promotions never once spoke to the athlete during the negotiation process.

Unless the club is trying to wow a new player or court them via a stadium walk around and a free pizza, I'm not really sure what there would be to talk about until there's a firm yes or no pending.

Its all on how we line up at kick off. Too many times in the first halves of games our team formation would kill any chance of creating chances and this has to be rectified. I give the home playoff leg for example, that team could have been playing to right now and still wouldn't have scored. We do have players that can do it, Tyriek Wright in the first leg at Bolton with an absolute peach that a decent striker would have buried. A mobile breaking midfielder and a natural finishing striker are a must for us.

I agree with this but with the caveat that our approach doesn't create much for regular goal scorers. A lot of our goals first half of the season came from opposition mistakes rather than our own ingenuity. Great when it works but shows its limitations when needing goals like we did in the playoffs.

A purely cynical attempt to tap into the local Eastern European population...;)

According to a Stoke reporter, Nathan Lowe has been made available for transfer with numerous L1 clubs reaching out.

I expect there will be a lot of interest as he has a lot of potential and is still very young.

Not good enough for County ?. He couldn’t get ahead of Wooton. Won’t be cheap.

He had a decent L1 season to say he never really had a great run at Stockport or Wycombe. He scored 7 and got 3 assists in just over 1,400 mins of football, a goal a little over every 200 mins.

Yes, just the type of player and age we should be really looking to invest in.

Early word is that two of the clubs who have already approached Stoke for a deal at Wycombe and Huddersfield.

Got a feeling Lowe is going to be on a fair whack by some point this summer.

We should join the queue for sure, has had a couple of iffy loan spells, but can get his name on the scoresheet and has a lot of upside.

Given its not our priority position under GA, it's not all or nothing, unlike other clubs who would absolutely need him to start scoring the second he arrived, we could give him time and patience.

This would be a quality move for us AND him, I think.
