    We have a one year option on Sarcevic, if we trigger, he stays regardless.

    I remember Sarcevic missing games at the end of the January transfer window and rumours he could be off. Like Halliday, he may have had interest elsewhere offering him longer term security. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we triggered his deal in January to keep him content.

    He's apparently a really impressive CB down there and is already linked with a few L1 teams. They have a young right back too who i've noticed was linked with Plymouth and MK.

    It was once said County were working to a “master plan” . Wasn’t it him that typed up the glossy brochure ? The plan was incidentally , playing in the CC within 6 years. Going to Wed is nuts or massive money ?

    It looks like the plan is being ditched and Stott, fed up of spending all his money on players and big wages has decided to go down the “long term sustainability” route .

    Club statement
    “Following those discussions, it has been mutually agreed that with the main growth phase of the club completed, the next chapter would be focused on long-term sustainability” .

    On crowds of 9,500 average ??

    Oddly if they win at Wembley the target will be hit, if not , then a close failure.

    Sounds like Stott wants to go younger from the County fans. Wilson was basically running the entire football end of things and Weds have thrown a lot of cash at him to take over the football ops for their new owners.

    If Stockport go up (i think they will) then the sustainability fan will be a bit looser.

    Speaking of Stockport, I wouldnt be surprised if we took 1-2 off them this summer. Callum Connolly, CB, off the back of a bad injury will be gone. He may be invited to train as a trialist or get a Powell type deal that nobody knows about!

    This parachute money given to teams who are relegated, it seems grossly unfair to me why don’t they make it a rule that when players sign a contract that they will accept an average of LG1 wages? As things stand at the moment we will be seriously affected by our inability to match these wages.

    I know it is not all about money as we have proved this year, but it does have an influence on our ability to recruit players. They could use “elevator” money for teams who are promoted instead.

    They do have plans in place for expanding the stadium to 18,000 including new hospitality areas which will help with sustainability over time if they can use it to bring in new fans which I think they can do as attendances for them are at their highest for about 60 years

    Yeah i think Connolly was linked in Jan to us if i remember rightly? Wouldn't be surprised if he was on our radar. I think Odin Bailey is out of contract too and whenever i've seen them i've thought he was really impressive as the legs in their midfield. Doing all the leg work around Norwood, someone with that engine could work well for us, but they'll likely offer him something.

    In an ideal world....but maybe we just get promoted and get our own parachute payments! Its money that is held back through a safety net, they would get that money regardless - but its to stop teams from been irresponsible and going to the wall when relegated.

    TBF its teams like Barnsley, Leeds, Derby, Ipswich and oh...City that nearly went bust in the early 00s after relegation and this new payment system was introduced to combat it!

    He isnt a crock, he just got a bad one last season. Injury record looks pretty clean with between 30-45 games a season for the last 5 years - bar this one. But of course, need to treat with caution....

    Max Power came in off the back of a bad one - 50 games this season.

    It's wrong to refer to it as a Parachute payment as are received in the Championship by relegated PL clubs. The relegated clubs from the Championship don't receive any money from the EFL or Sky or anyody else. Those payments are the same as what every other club in Lge 1 receives.. Instead, these clubs have a slightly relaxed constraint through the SCMP regime and now the SCR regime. What that means is that the cap in Lge 1 which restricts the amount which can be dedicated to the playing budget by linking it as a % to the club's revenues is slightly higher in the first season for the relegated clubs. The club still has to find the money itself to pay their contracted players themselves.

    Well the width of a post stats are pretty telling
    11 wins in the last 27 games of the season with 3 in the last 12 and only a few games where we scored twice
    None of the chasing pack hit enough form to catch us, but the two games against Bolton showed how far off we were in reality
    I won’t us to improve year on year, January was a step backwards squad wise as far as I am concerned
    Big summer coming up
    I am not against Sarce staying, but more as an impact sub than a starter and if he wants a two year deal, then it’s a definite no from me
