Tyreik, Sarce and Baldwin are the only 3 worth talks. Tyreik will 100% get an offer or trigger a new deal, whichever we have favour on.

Sarce is a funny one, I'd give him another year but maybe not have him as a nailed on starter? Turning 35 next season and he's looked really leggy in games lately. If we change tactic and use him in the 10, great! If he's asked to chase pings down the channel again, maybe it's not his game as the year goes on. But to me he seems the type who wouldn't want to be a rotation type?

Baldwin I suppose it comes down to what we want. If we are planning on hoofing the ball next season again, yeah give him a deal. He's an OK defender for this level, he has his good games and bad games but does a job. His main USP is his long balls, but they have been tragic lately, rarely getting to the wing back if it goes wide, always headed back if it's a ping down the middle. I feel like GA loves Baldwin and he's getting an offer, I just dont want another season of what we've seen since January of pointless long balls.

In order of importance, Wright, Sarc and Baldwin.

All three should be kept,

But Tyreik has catapulted himself to be arguably now our most important player. Shows, what happens when managers / coaches get time to work with players - Wright has always been a very good talent, (Villa wouldn't have kept him for so long if he wasn't) and we are now seeing that. His performance when he came on was superb.

Baldwin is inconsistent against the very best, but is still vital to the way we play, but, it is arguable that his Xg is entirely dependent on at least two of Wright / Pointon / Sarc / Neufville been on their game. Defending wise, he's probably outside the play-offs for quality.

Sarc, simply can't play two games a week and needs longer to get back to his best after injury. Hence, he'll need to accept that he perhaps only starts half the games.

 

Tyreik is must, he's not reached his potential and he can be such an important player for us. Sarc i could see leaving maybe dropping a league for to eye up yet another promotion. If he does stay I'd hope it'd be as more of an impact player than talisman, someone younger needs to step into that role.

Baldwin on balance hasn't had a bad season but I'm a bit on the fence. We could do worse but also could definitely do better!

 

If Baldwin goes, I'm having a party.

Sarce absolutely should be given another offer and Wright had a great last 6 months but perhaps will be dependant on whether we keep the wingback system or not. If we abandon for something like the 4 3 3 we've seen a few times this year then perhaps he doesn't quite warrant the deal he might be looking for.

 

Baldwin and Wright will probably have new 1 deals triggered and kept on for at least 12 months. Sarcevic will be offered something, guess he may be looking for a 2 year deal but I bet we only offer 1. He is most likely to go.

Rest out of contract and all the loans will be binned off.

 

Hearing we are looking to offer Byrne a new deal. Thoughts?

It shouldn't be long until we find out with the EFL deadline for enengagement with out of contract players 4 days from the final game for teams in the play offs.
I'd imagine we've already looked at this and had 2 lists ready.
I expect Wright and Baldwin wil get new offers. I do have a feeling that Sarcevic could leave unless we have an option in the deal as I can see us only wanting to offer him a 1 year deal whereas other clubs especially big spenders in league 2 will be happy to gamble on a 2 year then we have a similar situation to how he joined us as I think he takes the extra year.
Goodman will probably get another year as well to see what progress he can make.

 

You forgot Nick Powell.

 

Goodman is 20 in December. If we aren't going to use him as a squad member now then we may as well just get rid. Players like him and Ibbitson (who is 21 in December) need to be in that squad on the fringes so we aren't wasting money on players like Ashby, White and Wheatley. Invest in quality and look at cheaper back up options IMO.

 

Not seen a lot of Goodman, but my guess is his early career will go a similar way to Staunton's. Drop down the leagues for a few years and then he'll get a chance again in the EFL.
