    I hate the expression ‘the 56’. Many more than that were injured, traumatised or bereaved. It’s not just about those who died.

    And even if it was "the 56" feels impersonal and a bit crass.

    I fully accept this isn't the meaning behind it but that's just how it sometimes comes across when it's emblazoned on merchandise such as the hoodies.

    Absolutely. It feels like commodifying tragedy to me. None of us that were there ever referred to ‘the 56’. It’s a more recent development that is very regrettable to my way of thinking.

    A good turnout again at the memorial, nice to see the whole squad down and also a reading from max power which I don't recall a player doing previously.

    Probably not one for today but I thought one speech from the main dignitary was going a bit unnecessarily political at one point but I guess that's the way of the world these days

    The dean of Bradford Cathedral l too felt it was a bit political, but also found his memory of the day very touching

    Smallwood did a reading last season unless the old grey natter is playing tricks and I believe Stuart has done, as I commented to my brother that took some courage as you could see in his face it was difficult, obviously reliving that day.

    I choose not to wear anything emblazoned with the branding of '56' nor do i sing songs relating to it such as always remember as it has never sat right with me. Each to their own i guess.
