The EFL take I think 50% after expenses with the rest divided between the 4 teams. There is little incentive to increase revenue. For a game of this importance I would like to have seen the maximum number of supporters at both grounds. We shouldn't be scared of an away following behind the TL Dallas, even for penalties. The players are professionals after all.

Stevenage share will probably be more than they take for a league game.

so after VAT at £24 you are left with around £19 per ticket , if £2 or £3 goes to running costs per ticket, its down to £16 - 50% to the league leaves £8 split four ways
I right money maker these playoffs , for the league and tax man.

Agree. Not sure why the EFL get 50%. That outrageous. I bet they rubbing their hands when the highest fan bases were in the playoffs.

Well we must be a tinpot half baked club. Stevenage have totally sold out their full home allocation. How on earth did they do it?

    It's a 5 way split - 50% EFL, 12.5% for each of the 4 play-off clubs.

The 5 share the aggregate of revenues (excl VAT) for all four games less the costs of staging the games. It results in us receiving only £2.50 for each extra adult ticket sold for £24 at VP.

Stevenage with their appallingly low attendance data send their wholehearted thanks .

If you think City have handled the selling of tickets, movement of supporters, no reserved seats poorly, then you should have a look at what is happening at Stockport! https://theyellowboard.boards.net/board/1/main-board
It looks like a 24 hour window for Season Ticket holders and no reserved seats, then general sale.
They are a deeply unhappy bunch!

It shouldn’t be about who gets what split of the funds, it should be trying to allow as many fans as possible of both clubs to watch both games.
As it stands right now both stadiums will have lots of empty seats

My £3 guess wasn't far off then , so a 20000 crowd with gate receipts approaching £400k actually makes you £50k

Absolutely. The game at VP certainly won't sell out so once they'd made the deciding to reconfigure MR allocation why not just give it fully to Bolton in return for the lower tier at their ground?

It would have been 2 great atmospheres and hopefully great games instead of restricting access to the ground when there are swathes of empty seats that could have been sold.

I think we’ll get pretty close to selling out if we’re going into the home leg level/ahead on aggregate. Lose the first leg 3-0 and it’ll be half full.

That's how I felt way back in 1996 after we'd lost the first leg of the play-off at home against Blackpool. We'd already bought our tickets for the away leg and almost decided not to go. But fortunately we did go and the rest is history.

Looks like we've shifted a good few thousand this morning already on the general sale for the VP game.

edit: From a quick AI'ing, there's approx 2,250 left. Biggest section is still the 2 blocks in the Midland Road end.
