Well, i think we can all agree it isn't over at that point!

 

A well disciplined and professional performance today. Really encouraged by how good some of the performances were - not spectacular, just really hard working and disciplined. Joe Wright and Lapslie were the pick of the bunch for me, but that’s hard on everyone else as each had a moment in the game where they really stepped up.

Thought Power and Metcalfe optimized that cause for the majority of the game, they won their battles but recycled possession fantastically. Metcalfe was the most pleasing to see after a couple of tougher games versus his high standards.

Yes, Walker should have done better for their goal. He will know that and will be as frustrated as anyone. No need to spend anymore time on that.

The back 3 were great but I’m always much more comfortable with Baldwin at RCB. Said the same all last season and don’t feel any different this. He’s important to how we play, but in his primary role to defend, I think he’s better when not the central figure.

So fantastic to still be playing for something.

 

If that is the last realistic pic , how on earth can the ref give that as a goal ? Don’t tell me he bottled it? If he’s unsure then it’s no goal, if he’s sure then he shouldn’t ref in the Park on a Sunday?

 

So it must have hit one of the defenders / keeper before bouncing out so it must've been further over the line at some point. It hasn't just hit the line and randomly bounced away from goal. Seems pretty inconclusive.

 

Hit the goalkeepers knee I believe before bouncing down.

 

Really looking forward to a nice post from Bantam J praising the team by massively exceeding expectations by finishing 4th and admitting how wrong he was tipping us to struggle and that the summer signings were very good after all.

 

Well that was an enjoyable afternoon and surprisingly stress free. First half was complete control, second half less so but I don't recall us conceding a big chance. Howler from Walker the only real negative really.

From a footballing perspective, I'm not enamoured with the prospect of Bolton over two legs who I think are very dangerous. However there's pros and cons to playing everyone I guess. But as I sit on the train home, I'm very excited for two massive ties against a big side which should both be great occasions. Its why we wanted out of league two and hopefully the players embrace it and who knows what will happen.

 

Aye I assume so, the keeper presumably was in a different position in the previous frame. If the keepers moving forward which would make sense the ball must have been closer to the goal than in that frame. Either way it doesn't seem likely that the ball was fully over and....

There's no way the officials should be giving that as its completely inconclusive. A criticism of the ref just for you.

 

There was a right scramble when you see the video. Also, the ref wasnt in a great position.

Wright's been superb since he came back in. We've just played against four of the best front line strikers, in the last three matches and they've been kept relatively quiet compared to the mayhem they normally make.

 

What a season!! Well done to everyone.

If I'd have suggested after the March 2024 Harrogate loss, that we'd be 4th in L1 in just over two year @NorthernMonkey would have rightly had me banned from here, for been 'happy clappy' beyond reason

 

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere but i think Joe Wright deserves credit for his recent performances. An intelligent player and useful in both penalty areas

Well I take back all my negativity and criticism of performances in recent weeks. Looking forward to two good games and what will be will be. 4th is tremendous no matter what happens. There is a togetherness in the squad and it amazes me why Lapslie hasnt played more.
