Well that was an impressive performance by Vale. Nothing to play for but pride. They stuck their chest out and played good football. I do now what the odds were on Vale getting anything out of that.

You never know what can happen in one offs

 

I know I keep banging on , but to prove otherwise the teams with nowt to play for cough up three points is utter crsp .

Could it beat last seasons final game, 0 - 0 until the 97 minutes then Wheatley gets his shot away and sends the keeper the wrong way.

Bolton lose, Stockport draw, we draw, Stevenage win and everyone in the play offs ends up on 75 points. Stranger things have happened.

 

It's a pity tomorrow night will be the opposite of that as both sides channel their inner Stevenage.

 

It's possible that at 5pm on Saturday we could end up 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th or (god forbid) 7th. There is likely to be a fair bit of movement of those positions in that 2hr period.

 

If any team facing sides we would prefer not to win come across a team shithousing like Fleetwood last year at our place will do me Saturday. Be it Wigan or Barnsley.

 

It was a privilege to see a game played like that. The pace never relented from the first minute to the last, one of the best matches I've ever witnessed.

 

The play offs aren't a week Saturday, they are now.
6 will become 4 (with only Bolton guaranteed not to be eliminated) on Saturday and a week the following Thurs there will be two left.

Play off mentality where the next game could be your last starts now.

 

Remarkable we can still finish third despite our recent form. This league all season has been there for anyone who wants it. Not sure it’ll be like that next. I hope GA gets it right on Saturday!

 

Equally as remarkable that we could still miss out completely after being in the top 6 all season and being 8 points clear of 7th just a couple of weeks ago.

Incredible that Stockport lost that, i had it as an easy point at the very worst for them.

Obviously the port vale Cup team not league team turned up tonight! I know Stockport once again were forced to play Wootton at the back due to defensive injury crisis (i assume otherwise why would they do that?!).

 

We aren’t the only ones thinking the same …
