Funny how teams that have been relegated can suddenly start playing well once the pressure goes

Feels like Stockport have been as bad as us for the last 3 months or so.

Well, its looking like Stockport will also be needing a point in their last away game of the season too.

What a turn up if its them that ends up missing out and Stevenage, Luton and ourselves join Bolton

It would certainly make Saturday squeaky bum time for all three clubs chasing a play off place, Barnsley winning at the moment it wont be easy for Stockport, and although I fancy Bolton against Luton that also wont be easy against one of the form teams in the league.

 

In fairness to Vale they have been playing better for a while and Jon Brady has made a difference since coming in. If they hold on and win this that will be 24 points from 22 games, in the first 23 games they got 18 points. I do wonder if they didn't go on the FA Cup run how close to a great escape they could have got as since losing to Chelsea they've got 8 points from 6 games which will be 11 from 7 if they win tonight. The 2 games they've lost are Cardiff and Plymouth and they pushed them both very close.

 

They pushed us very close, a great strike from Metcalfe getting us the win.

 

If Stockport lose tonight, there will be 3 spots up for grabs with 5 teams in the running

 

The games far from over but the longer the games stays at 2 - 0 the more Stockport will start hitting it long and may push Wootton up front as they'd had nothing to lose.

With 20 minutes left they might as well go all out attack as the only point they would have to worry about goal difference is if it got to 5 or 6. They're way behind Bolton, their goal difference to Luton was only 1 better going into tonight so any loss tonight would mean a loss on Saturday and a win for Luton puts Luton above them. Both us and Stevenage are a long distance behind so it will need a big goal swing.
