So 50% of the team were CC or above pedigree . Wow , just how do you compete against that ? I knew they had a lot of loanees but not half a side .

We can’t financially, currently but you do it with passion, workmanship and team spirit
Much as we have done for the past two seasons
If we can add a few more quality players to the squad then hopefully we can push on next season if we miss out

Did we? How do you know what we are paying for the loans in or potentially subsidising players out at other clubs, whatever it is, it won’t be anywhere near what Bolton have spent on loans
We have to accept we don’t have the money to spend like other clubs
I will say we have to spend what we do have better than we did in January
Jackson started Ashby and Wheatley unused subs, the other 3 nowhere to be seen
5 players that took no part in the game 20% of the squad

Agree. They have some quality players but don't always gel as a team and have had to do a lot of catching up. No one wants to play them. Especially at a big pitch like Wembley. They're capable of hammering someone.

With the injuries we have, I think pragmatically its about making us hard to beat in the first instance. In the last 2 games we've competed well against fellow play off candidates. The disappointments for me were the Stevenage game where we succumbed to the dark arts, and v Barnsley where we threw away 2 points against 10 men.

Wembley suits the Bolton style of quick passing and moving the ball around at pace. Not sure our style of two static central midfielders makes the best use of what is essentially a large flat snooker table.

Predictted finish 7th because of poor recruitment. We dominate games but just do not have forwards who can score regular. We are one of the lowest scoring sides in the division and that will cost us dearly am afraid. A point at Exeter is doable as long as it is nil nil but if they score we are likely to lose

We have played very good teams with key players missing. Might have been different yesterday if the two wingers hadn’t played for them.

Of course I don't know what we are paying for the loans but I do know Ryan said at the fans forum that Rupp provided an extra 500k in January so that we could bring in the players we've brought in. I think that's a lot of money for what we ended up with.

I would wager a large part of that went on the permanent signing of Jackson
We will be paying a good chunk of Mullin and Sibleys wages and no doubt subsidising a good share of one or two of ours out on loan.
White Ashby and Wheatley costing very little I would think.

I think so - only really Bolton v Luton that looks interesting otherwise.

I'm hoping Leyton Orient go ahead early as that's bound to filter through to Exeter players and might knock wind out of their sails.

I agree Bolton looked a very good accomplished team with a lot of expensive loan players, but can I remind everyone that after 45 games they are just 1 point above us , so I don’t think we’ve been too shabby this season.

Best case scenario. Be horrendous if we enter the second half with Orient behind and we're not winning with Luton and Stevenage both ahead.

Im sticking £25 on Exeter, Stevenage and Luton all to win, the only permetation which sees us miss out. Its a £250 return so softens the blow! A bit....!
