GA said in his post match interview that we will set up at Exeter to go and win the game as we always do.

 

At times he is our only attacking threat, doesn't help when the left hand side offers no threat at all with Pointon and Wright. That said he is infuriatingly inconsistent, one minute he's skinning the full back, next he can't even trap the ball.

 

A change in starting formation then cos the last four games he hasn't started out to win any of them.

 

Apart from injuries it’s the same formation we have played all season. And apparently it was Bolton who changed shape to combat it

 

Really? I think he thinks he has. I think he’s doing what he thinks he can to win us games without our three most creative/goalscoring players. Yes, he’s keeping it tighter with Lapslie bolstering the midfield, but he is also a goalscoring threat.

 

We were in the McCall suite fans were leaving their seats to look through the windows up Thorncliffe Road as you say masses of Claret & Amber making their way to the ground shame it wasn't captured by TV cameras, it seemed to go on for several minutes.
Although the game wasnt a classic, they rarely are when so much is at stake the weather's was beautiful, the crowd was worthy of the occasion, the Bolton fans were impeccable during the minutes silence, a game we could have lost but didn't because of our fighting spirit and now to Exeter to finish the job, a point will do, it was a horrible feeling coming back in 1980 on the journey from Peterborough, a defeat at Exeter is unthinkable.

 

Totally agree. In the absence of Sarce, Pointon and Wright, hes had to adopt a pragmatic approach. He's gone out to win the games but I think the strategy has been about keeping a clean sheet and getting the 1-0. Unfortunately we haven't been able to keep the clean sheet.

 

Excellent post. Both my grandsons were on North Parade yesterday, they were texting me saying you can’t move on NP. They must have all set off together. The atmosphere was brilliant yesterday. The memorial service was observed without a sound.

 

I know words mean nothing but in Schumachers pre match interview he talked about his 3 seasons at Valley Parade and made it sound like his transfer to us possibly helped save his career as he wasn't wanted at Everton, now I'm not suggesting it would influence his team selection, finishing as high as possible will be his goal plus the fact it's Boltons last home game and they'll want to go out with a win.

 

Until weve made subs in the last three or four games we've hardly created a goal scoring opportunity. Yes there is the caveat that we've got three key players injured but the way he's set up in those games has made high in impossible to create goal scoring opportunities, it's only been when Nick Powell has come on and we've changed formation that we've looked like scoring. It's not so much a criticism more an observation but if we go into the playoffs with that starting line up of the last few games we'd be lucky to score never mind win them. Without Sarce and Bobby in the '10' roles as some like to call it we are pretty toothless.

 

Their own fans on their forum are wanting to beat Luton next week to ensure they don't make the play offs as they think they'll be the big danger to them if they do make the play offs

 

Luton are the big danger, in form team with a squad of talented players. If they sneak in my money is on them to go up.

 

I'm sure all City fans prefer us to finish the job ourselves but if we don't and other results mean we finish in a play off place I'll happily take that.

 

It wasn’t at all. We played 4 at the back with Baldwin at RB i thought anyone could have seen that. It was a 4-2-3-1 with Neufville, Lapslie and Humphrys in behind Jackson. No idea why we did it, Baldwin was destroyed at RB but thankfully they lacked end product.

 

I miss it so much . I’m envious .

All last day games are on so we will be at least on Sky Sports+ but suspect our game will be picked as the main game on Sky Sports Main Event/Football with it being the only game impacting both ends.
