The road closure would have to be at the junction of

We both know those pavements are very narrow when faced with huge numbers of exiting fans .

Whilst i agree in principle of pavements being used for walking on its not as simple as that. You've got 20,000 people exiting Valley Parade into numerous bottle necks around the stadium, one of those being the footfall onto Midland Road. Getting rid of match day parking on Midland Road would certainly help, although the bottle neck here seems to be at the bottom of Thorncliffe Road, once you get further down Midland Road it is possible to stay on the pavement albeit slowly on the right hand side.

All it takes is a few slow walking people and everyone would be back on the road again.
People are overthinking this when it’s simple.
Just put barriers at the top of Thorncliffe and Burlington to prevent cars entering from Manningham Lane. Allow one way access from the car parks towards Manningham lane only.
Close the whole of Midland Road towards Queens Road for 30mins after final whistle.
If people don’t like the restrictions then they’ll soon find alternatives.

Yes! We walked up Grove Street from the A628 Pontefract Road. It had three different sections with bollards. On the return after the game, I saw one single car driving in the opposite direction to the supporters leaving the stadium. It was driven at a very slow speed, by an older guy wearing Barnsley colours (perhaps a disabled pass holder?). Nothing was going down the road towards the A628. There was a very large car park on the left, with a lot of cars on it.

Apologies if this has been mentioned but we already block of passage along Midland Road from about 12.45 pm to allow visiting coaches to assemble. Do we have special permission for that or is it a police requirement?

I see they’ve closed Midland Road further along after the game tomorrow and also blocked traffic from Manningham lane onto Thorncliffe and Burlington Road.
This should be the same for every game

so extending Midland Road closure to the Sawmill after the game. I just hope the signs are clear at the junction with Queens Road otherwise you will get people coming on and having no where to go.

seems strange to only close Thorncliffe and Burlington from 1:45-2:30.

Yeah that surely must be a typo and should be 4.45pm for 45 mins

I thought it might be when they were expecting influx of people from North Parade?

It’s interesting the timing of the closure. Arguably the greatest concentration of Supporters on the streets is the end of the match. The wording is a little unclear ‘There will be no vehicle entry from Manningham Lane onto Burlington Street and Thorncliffe Road’. I assume it means 4.45 for 45 minutes rather than 1.45?

The wording is very ambiguous and to be honest I wouldn't assume anything with BCAFC & Bradford Clowncil

It's good for the safety of fans that the issue has now been properly recognised. I'm hoping that it isn't simply a knee jerk reaction for the Bolton game but rather that it becomes the norm for all Saturday fixtures in the future.

Like has been mentioned though, it’s to be hoped MR is blocked off from Queens Road too or it’ll be a disaster
