Certainly ahead of any defenders, only doubt would be if he was ahead of the ball but looks to be a yard ahead.

I had literally forgotten about both those players, what a waste of a signing they both were.

And probably a better option than Lee Evans who clearly isn't fancied at all by GA. He is basically in the 18 because we have nobody else

White and Sibley, all things considered (we were 2nd and looking to strengthen) must go down as 2 of the worst signings we have made in recent years. Infact, the entire recruitment in January was a bag of shit. Jackson has slowly been moving towards that category aswell.

No one in the ground seemed to argue with the decision, right idea but poorly timed execution.

Well, I feel vindicated in my quest for more game time with Lapslie. Look who was there for a tap in (but offside). Also involved with headers cleared off the lines Saturday and last night. Let’s hope he continues with his progress because even GA said in his interview he couldn’t have put up with being out of the picture like Laps has, when he was a player. He said his attitude is spot on and he trains as if he’s a regular player. Never causes any problems and sounds like a great team member. He’s always likely to get a goal as he’s always there or thereabouts. A bit of a late runner into the box and has striker qualities. I think he now deserves his chance and the plaudits for last nights efforts. Let’s hope he grasps the chance given to him due to the injuries to BP and Sarc.

    Agree wholeheartedly.
Lapslie was excellent in that box to box 10 role. We’ve been crying out for more energy and thrust through the middle and his work rate and determination were a joy to see. Thoroughly deserved MoM - he has to start with that formation Sat if Sarc not fully fit.
Delighted for George - thoroughly good bloke

He's also just not very good, hence he'd dropped down to league 2 then found his way onto the Walsall bench as often as not.

Centre mid is a cause for concern. Both Power and Metcalfe have been poor for several weeks. Definitely need an upgrade in the summer. Along with a new keeper.

Need pace, drive and energy in the middle and some goals......I'm not asking for much!!

I don’t like this habit of throwing an extra defender on to protect a lead. Not only is it very negative but it can lead to confusion about who is marking who. Attack is the best form of defence

We settled for a point once we scored which was frustrating. Then he brought Pennington on and we spent injury time inviting pressure. No good for my nerves!

We also got a potential breakaway on in the final minutes but Jackson seemed indecisive about whether to commit to trying to win the ball from the flick on, or at least that's how it looked to me in the lower tier of the main stand. I hope not going for the winner when we were on top doesn't bite us on the arse.

I agree Park, but I think Alexander saw we were cut open down that side just before he brought Pennington on where Baldwin was caught out of position playing fullback.

I have also been bemused about his lack of game time, or even lack of bench time. I would have him in the squad in a heartbeat, his energy and attitude is spot on. We arguably wouldn't be in league 1 without him - won us 2 matches with braces and I still feel a little unsure whether Sarcevic 96 should have been Lapslie 96 (or maybe OG 96) but whatever he was involved! Sounds like a really good guy to have around the team as well, proper team player.

Hindsight is awonderfull thing but im in your camp a win last night would have cemented our playoff spot and would have seen Bolton and Stockport having to chase us down

I think last night was a good example of where putting on that extra defender was exactly the right thing to do. They were incredibly direct and injury time was always going to be a bit of an aerial bombardment, think having that extra body in there to clear the danger worked well and we just mopped up whatever they tried to throw at us.

Power and Walker still have a year on their contracts, Metcalfe has another 2 years.. replacements would have to be damn good for us to pay them off as I doubt we would get substantial bids for them if we fail to get promotion.. well, maybe we could get something for Metcalfe based on his mid season performances but otherwise it's gonna be a hell of a juggling act... If by some miracle we get promoted, all the player's stock will rise and it needs to because we will have to make wholesale changes to fight relegation from the champ.

Know what you mean Kev. However, Humphrys for me is always a danger when he does get on the ball and starts his mazy runs, one of those got us the equaliser.
You will remember the likes of Jimmy Greaves, Denis Law etc etc, didn't do much overall but when they did..........
