I remember going to Blackpool away in the early 2000s and seeing stewards I recognised from Valley Parade. I am not sure if they go to every game; maybe a former steward could answer that

Wasn't there some sort of protest going in Rod?

Come on did we really think we would stroll into the playoffs ?????
I know a few are having a pop ar GAs tactics but this lot have enough experience to see that game out ........the slow play during the first half that should be up to the players to speed things up

I didn’t see anything at all. Actually no problem. Went to the Dove pre match, which had a mix of supporters in it. Nothing mentioned on the Barnsley Forum, https://barnsleyfc.org.uk/ and from a quick Google search nothing in the local press or on the NewsNow links.

Writing was on the wall the minute Evans was brought on to protect the lead. Has the lad been on a winning team since he returned?

Been dreadful. Hooked at HT at Wycombe he was that bad.

Yep, played the full 90 in our win against Stockport and had a decent game. Also put through a great ball for Wright's consolation goal at Burton but other than that, he's been poor.

Harsh, Evans came on in the 88th minute. its hard to get up to speed in a game, with so little time left, there was also 10 other players on the pitch that could have dealt with the situation far better and 15 players involved before he came on, that hardly set the standard.

It was a bit of a tongue in cheek comment tbh. Evans wasnt at fault yesterday. But he has been awful since returning. Rated him before but he’s finished.

I thought Powell was finished, but he has looked good in his cameo's, so never write anyone off
My biggest disappointment is Mullin, expected far more from him, not fit to lace sir Andrew Ellis Cook's boots in my opinion

Laughable how poor we were yesterday. Looked like a team of strangers, especially at the back.

I thought the red card was harsh and could easily have been a yellow. Also thought their penalty shout was probably a penalty. 2 big calls that went our way and we still looked second best for most of the game.

Can’t call the playoffs at all, nobody looks great. Wide open for all 4 teams who make it.

I don’t recall Mullin having a shot on target since he arrived. We’ve not helped him playing him in weakened XI’s with shite like Sibley. Anyway, like Wheatley it seems like he’s dropped well down GA’s pecking order now Jackson is back.

agree Powell has done better lately

Right re Mullin border, however in his defence, the bloke usually only gets 10mins or so now and again. On the whole our January recruitment has been terrible.

They often work at the more local games deemed to be at a higher risk of trouble. The thinking is that they will be familiar with our fans and might be able to diffuse difficult situations.

Yep, we’ve created so little he has been one of the main ones that suffered. I don’t think he’s had many minutes with Pointon and Sarcevic on pitch and we all know without those two we are a bang average team unfortunately

He doesn't fit what we do really but then I'm not sure who does? Alexander's formation doesn't suit an out an out striker, more someone willing to graft his nuts off and run around a lot. But then saying that it ain't exactly Humphrys forte this running around lark and he's had a lot of minutes.

It’s a “ security “ contractor that “sell” their operatives to anyone or any event that needs security. Football, rugby, festivals etc etc etc etc .

It's fairly common for away teams to have their own stewards at big games. The theory is that if fans see stewards from their own club that they might recognise or at least know they are from their own club then they act as a familiar face and reduce the risk of trouble. It can also happen as a condition by the home club for giving a bigger away end if they home club don't have enough stewards to cover an increased away allocation.

The whole January transfer recruitment was weird wasn’t it. I heard Beesley was top of the list but then we signed Jackson and it came out that we’d had an offer for Beesley rejected, so maybe we just panicked?
