We could have spent money in January and still not been at the level Lincoln and Cardiff have been at across the season. Let's secure play offs and see what happens. Plenty of reasons to be optimistic going forward whatever happens and plenty of ways the whole house of cards could collapse. My personal advice is enjoy a great season for what it is. :)

I'd sign Lowe, but I think we're banging our heads against a brick wall signing strikers on loan in Jan.

Kayden Jackson isn't a bad signing.

Some times history doesn’t repeat. We have been ‘hurt’ badly for a number of years of poor management and a lot of the decisions were made under duress but they had very little choice.

I am hoping we have a much better 10 years.

I liked you better when you were just a lurker :joy:. Joking apart I am optimistic and loving this season....however it ends. I was even reasonably happy with our January signings....I was just wrong. I'm not a football guru and don't really know what I would have done differently, it's just that the autos were within our grasp and it didn't feel like we embraced it. Anyway - promoted via the play offs and we'll all be happy

A mate has just messaged me saying
"Someone who knows someone at the club has said that he has returned to Man Utd"

I didn't think we could send him back unless he was injured.

    Don't shoot the messenger.

    Wouldn't surprise me

I think we can send him back but would still have to pay till season end

If hes been told won't play again theres no point being here

Like many others fans at the time, I thought this was a very underwhelming signing at the time, and thats been kind.

Walsall fans didnt rate him and he struggled to score.

Northampton fans didnt appear to rate him either, struggled to score.

    Very, very baffling signing.

The lad is destined for non league football

Championship level athlete, League Two talent, and potentially non league mentality.

If he's sulking (if) then I would cast doubt on a long career because it sorta seems like he must expect too much of himself and will struggle when he doesn't hit those heights.

Early retirement, non league, or playing in Malaysia or similar would be my bet after another attempt at somewhere like Salford who would take him as an ex United player etc.

Seems strange to send him back if we are still paying him unless he is disruptive

We can send him back for any reason as long as the agreement is fully paid up. I expect him to be released by Man U at the end of his deal with them ?

It does appear strange if indeed he has been 'sent back' whatever that might really mean! In any event, he remains registered as a loan player with us until the next registration period immediately prior to the next transfer window.

his current deal runs until summer 2028 so he still has a couple of years left if they let him run his deal down at Man Utd. He was highly though of and given a new deal whilst he was on loan at Walsall even though it wasn’t going very well.

The kids played around 40 professional games and people are talking about retiring or playing in Malaysia It’s not worked out for him here but it’s a strikers graveyard at Bradford City at the moment. We have Humphries on 7 league one goals. Will Swan with 5… Between Jackson, Wheatley and Mullin they have one league one goal between them. We don’t create anything for our strikers.
I wish the lad well and hope he go to an environment where he can develop and not be written off after 12 games of football at 20 years old by their fans.

I don't think its really about the 12 games for Bradford. Walsall fans thought he was shit, Northampton fans were underwhelmed and Bradford fans (in the main) think he is shit. GA has finally realised that too. Pattern recognition at play....

He can't head, he can't shoot, his decision making is shit and his goal output his appalling....he is a big lad with some pace, an athlete.

Was it? Its probably a fair post to Wheatley as things can change, but some of us fans have seen, recognised and predicted it far too often over the years.

Callum Kavanagh - signed from Boro, did ok for 6 months, now at Oldham.
Michael Mellon - loaned from Burnley, bang average, now at Oldham.
Olly Sanderson - loaned from Fulham, underwhelming spell, now at Woking.
Chisam Akofa - loaned from Villa, another shite athlete and now at Stourbridge.
Ray Tulloch - loaned from WBA, crap, now at Portadown.
Kian Harrat - loaned from Town, didnt get much of a chance but an idiot - now at Brackley.
Dara Costelleo - loaned from Burnley, was shite - now at Wigan after decent spell at Northampton
Thierry Nevers - loaned from West Ham, absolutely shite - now in prison.

Name me one decent young FW/CF we have loaned in the last 5 years that has gone on to have a career better than League One football? And why will Ethan Wheatley break this mould - what have you seen the rest of us havent?

What a strange reply, I'd suggest you read @Onside87@Onside87 post again and the reason I agreed and made my comment.
Without the reply you posted which is meaningless with regards @Onside87@Onside87 post.
