Either think the 4 teams will stay as they currently are, or Luton ride the Wembley wave and sneak it, but that means Stevenage probably have to have a wobble too.

Stevenage had a man sent off today, plus a defender going off injured again. Luton will probably need 4 wins to challenge, minimum, but it's do-able with the lads on their books.

Stockport get in but they'll limp in for me. Fixture congestion and a defence on it's last legs might mean a few dropped points. I think Bolton 3rd, us 4th, Stockport 5th and I'm 80% sure Stevenage, just because they probably need 4 or 5 points from 4 games to realistically do it.

If Luton get a win tomorrow night it puts them right in the mix.

Big game on Saturday for Stevenage against Lincoln who need a win to secure the title, if they can get a draw it should calm them down after tonight, if they lose and Plymouth win it then starts to become as much about holding your nerve as it is about quality. With their goal difference it effectively gives the challengers and extra 0.5 points on them.

 

Tonight mate they looked shocking against Cardiff last Saturday and were lucky to not have a similar score line as tonight against Stevenage against then.
We at home we have to take the game to them if we were to get 3 points then our only worry for 3rd position is Stockport on paper their run is isn't bad but we know on the run all sorts of results get thrown up.

 

That would do me as we'd have to fancy our chances against Stockport over 2 legs, especially given their fixture pile up.
Hopefully we'll have players back and have the luxury of resting a couple before the end of the season.

 

Just looked at their run in and Its possibly the easiest of all the chasing pack only Bolton last game of the season should cause them a problem but their away forms not great.

 

This game has panned out exactly as it should . The home side score first and Stevenage have no answer because their game plan is as much use as a chocolate ashtray. Why people fear them in the play off is beyond me .

if we had that ref on Saturday we may have won that game plus he would have sent their player of for kicking Tilt. A very good ref he set the environment to let the game flow.

 

Maybe the FA chose a stricter referee for Stevenage tonight, after that refereeing performance on Saturday.

 

If Town knew how to defend a lead in injury time we would be sweating now. Thats 6pts dropped in their last 4 home games.

 

Or maybe Bolton are simply a better team than us

 

We lose 0-1 and looked crap and Bolton put 5 past with ease. Ive been saying it for weeks, scraping enpugh pts but the performances are shite and we will be found out quickly in the semis if things dont improve.

 

We're 11th or 12th in the 2026 L1 table, we've been limping for months and are very lucky that there are a bunch of inconsistent sides around us. We need some wins to get some kind of momentum but our side is so hot and cold.

Feels like most are expecting the play offs but very few are expecting us to actually do much in them? Bit like the Millwall play off legs about 10 years back in that awful chess kit.

 

Bolton will have their playoff place secured by then, and may ease off for this one?

 

We've not been brilliant but we deserve to be where we are. Bolton had a shocking defeat to Vale not long ago. Every team has bad days at the office (bar Lincoln seemingly). I'm sure Phillips punching someone in the back of the head gave Stevenage a bit of a helping hand last night.

 

And folk still argue our January recruitment was decent.

 

Because of dodgy refs who fall for all their dark arts play.. like we found out last saturday

 

If im honest I dont really care about other teams. I only really care about the one I support. Yes we deserve a play off spot, and we will also deserve our place in L1 if these performances continue.

Sorry but im not one of those that is just happy to make up the numbers in the play offs.
