Good point, all those years I used Midland Road it was always after the match where the danger to the public arose. I guess there are two ways of dealing with it, either eliminate the chance of dangerous driving being a problem by closing the road or enforcing the supporters leaving the ground to use the pavement and not the road which has it's impracticalities due to cars parking on the pavement.
Personally I would go with the first option as it takes out the problem of societies dickheada driving like lunatics.

Not sure about asking fans to stay on pavement mate they pay for seats but prefer to stand which in itself is against club policy and I'd think Health & Safety laws ;).

People will always do things that are either against the rules or risks safety. Only way to stop such behaviour is to enforce rules or put measures in place to prevent it.
In this case, the simple solution is to close Thorncliffe Rd / Burlington Rd / Midland Road / Valley Parade to all traffic for 30 mins after the game.
More needs to be invested into public transport / park and ride facilities on match days.

I am not even sure it needs to be 30 minutes ‘after the match’. In simple terms having a fixed time to pedestrianise the area is straightforward and everyone knows the core time. I would suggest 4.50-5.20 pm for a Saturday match would suffice. That allows time for the implementation prior to the final whistle, as we know a lot start leaving around the 85th minute. Use the same 30 minute period for night and early kick offs.

Better still, ban WV Golf drivers in Bradford. Having said that, the amount that are crashing lately they're going to run out of VW Golfs soon (hopefully)

He drove down midland road on the wrong side of the road at speed then when realising he was blocked in at the bottom as shown in the picture decided to reverse back up midland road at speed towards the stadium.
I have a vid of a small part which clearly shows the Driver and number plate.

I walked down towards Queens Road after the incident and someone was speaking to a police officer in his car at the lights. He promptly did a 180 with lights on.

I showed the police man that drove up the road the vid and he asked for a check in his number plate and sent me a link to my phone to send it in.
I had to push my son out of the way of the car as he was crossing the road.

Well done with your son. That was a close call.

I'd be inclined to let the club know what happened. They can't ignore these near misses since there is a potential solutkon in their own hands. As a minimum the club should be informing the Safety Advisory Group

not many cars actually park on the pavements anymore down Midland Road as they have started giving tickets out. Most park on the side of the road like normal.
Problem being the pavements are just not wide enough for the number of people trying to go that direction at the same time.

I do wonder on what basis those numbers are dreamt up.

How would it cost up to £3k per game to close midland road for a short while.

As far as I'm aware there are no business to compensate that operate at that time and at best (if they took responsibility) it would cost the council probably £100 for an hour's work for two lads to lay out barriers and collect at the end
