On a sidenote see Cooky got a brace and assist for the Mariners yesterday. Well done Andy.

Have a look at the first two goals and join in laughing with me next time someone tells you "but Cooky can't play in this team because he can't press".

Watching his goals back from yesterday and a fee others he's scored, I refuse to believe that he wouldn't have offered more than Mullin and Wheatley in this run so far.

Yesterday's first was a prime example of what a match fit Cook can do, charging down lost causes, nightmares for defenders and makes the keeper rush to a panic too. Massive own goal in my view to let him go.

Thought the Grimsby second goal was a better example. It reminded me of the goal he scored down at Gillingham for us, only he squared it across the box for a tap in for the Grimsby lad rather than have a go himself.

Yeah proper Cook finish. Knows how to get the space he needs and is exactly where the 9 needs to be in the box.

    But But it's L2
He can't press, run, harras defenders and has totally lost his scoring touch
Pfffft who needs him when you have Wheatley and Mullins

I know some will point out its immaterial but our tactics tend to be just chucking crosses into the box and Andy Cook buries those two headers the keeper saved. Moot point really as he's gone but it does show the advantage of having a proven goal scorer in your midst.

Said it before. Would rather have Cook than any of them we currently have … we know put crosses in the box. Hilarious.

That is something as a striker you learn over your career, have a go yourself or lay it off to someone who has a better chance, and that for me is something Humphrys doesn't take into account at times, that's an example not a criticism, very similar to our early chance that Bobby missed when leaving it for Sarcevic would possibly have been a better option, but Bobby's goal return is pretty good at the moment and was he made aware Sarcevic was in a better position to maybe score.

So as a manager what would you do if a player came to you and said “ I want a move” , both knowing the player wouldn’t get game time whilst managing without that same player for a year and being third in the higher division . What would YOU do in the same scenario.?

The Cookie argument is stupid. He wanted lots of game time and we couldn't give him that. If he was still here he'd be starting on the bench and coming on for the last 30 minutes or so when we needed something different. He didn't want to be that player and given his service to this club he deserved the move so he could play more games.

Stupid… he is as good or better than what we have at heading scoring lay offs or general defensive headers. I know he wanted to go but he is still one of our best strikers. That’s all.

Madness to let him go on loan, then subsidise his wages. Our only natural goalscorer. Not bothered if he can't run 12 km in a game, he is a prolific scorer. Better than Mullin and Wheatley by a country mile.
