I agree its looking unlikely but that 6th spot is still there for the taking for anyone that puts a decent run together in the last 4 or 5 games.

If Power picks up his 14th yellow tomorrow, do we just rest him for the rest of the season and start Evans & Metcalfe? Or ask him to pick up his 15th yellow at Barnsley and get his suspension out the way? Feels like either way we might see a bit more of Evans in the final 5.

I might have missed it, but have we had the definitive answer yet as to whether a suspension would carry over into the play-ffs

Any suspension would do if it was triggered before the regular seasons end although after the 46th game the card accumulation doesn't carry into the play offs.

From what I've read it would, if he were to pick up his 15th before the end of the regular season. All wiped after the Exeter game, so the only way anyone will get a ban after then is if they get a red.

It did for Andrew Davies going into the 2013 play offs, no idea if it's changed since?

Thanks for the replies. I thought there was a suggestion that the play offs were classed as a different competition to the regular season and therefore if, for example, Power picked up his 15th card in the 46th game, he could still play in the playoffs. I might have misread it

Just found something in the Sunderland Echo that suggests you could be right but it's from last year and I can't find any updated information.

Stevenage with just 1 away win in their last 10 is giving me a massive dread about tomorrow. Looks like they've lost to every promotion chaser away from home this season apart from Stockport, which they went to and won 3-1. Similarly to us, over the season they are a good home side and poor away side.

Surely the scarf parade will be enough to get us over the line?!

Stevenage are certainly not good ‘on the road’.
    Last six results L 3-1 L 3-1 L 3-1 W 1-0 L 1-0 D 0-0
City’s home record over the corresponding six matches
    W 2-0 W 1-0 W 1-0 W 2-1 D 1-1 W 1-0
This fixture needs City to keep the momentum going. A last minute scuffy goal would suffice.
It will be interesting to watch Stevenages approach. Do they in effect come for the draw?
Plymouth their nearest rivals are at Exeter. A Devon derby, which I guess Plymouth will be the favourites.
Luton and Stockport play each other in the EFL Trophy, so hopefully that is another game for both and that one comes out deflated.

It will be fun reading their fans views if we go up.

I'm sure they will still be "miles better" than us teehee

I think Humps will start again and we may see Jackson on the bench, not sure they will want to risk starting him after being out for a while.

I hope we feed Tilt some raw meat before kick off!

I know we've probably said it in the past, especially in League Two, but some sides looking 'bang average' doesn't make the entire league season a fluke - we've easily out-competed Town this season, and fully deserve to be ahead of them :)

I remember a few seasons back that Leyton Orient comfortably won L2 whilst looking nothing special whatsoever. They just kept grinding out 1-0 and 2-1 wins with relentless regularity, even while looking ‘bang average’ a lot of the time.

Just seen that we are the only team in the professional league this season yet to give away a penalty this season........

That was a red card so it's different, they still apply to the next game e.g. Baldwin would have been suspended for the 1st leg if we ended up in the play offs. Since then yellow card bans have changed as yellow cards only apply to the competition they are got in. In the past it was 5,10,15 etc in any competition for a ban then the ban applies in the next game then it got changed to be fair on teams who got further in the cups and also players were cheating the system to get a suspension in a cup like McMahon did when he deliberately got a yellow card before an FA Cup match so he wouldn't miss a league match.
