Lars Rottweiler sounds like a character from Toast of London.

I'm 99.9% sure it's going to be nothing, but walking through the car park by the Sunwin turnstiles toward the club shop earlier to renew our STs, i noticed some new stadium maps that are printed and on the walls between the ticket office entrance and the gates to the Sunwin car park. There's some fairly large empty spaces on the top and bottom third or so of the new map print outs and when comparing it to the old stadium map, which is just above the brickwork before the first turnstyle if you enter from that Valley Parade street side a few feet away from one of the new maps. The only mega difference i could quickly spot from a scan other than some big white empty borders on the new maps, there's no mention of "the university of Bradford stadium" on the new print out maps.

Could be just the print outs were large and there's lots of empty space around, but does anyone know if the stadium naming rights deal is also something coming to an end? If so, those larger white gaps on the print outs could just be waiting for some Mbanq stickers perhaps and the "Mbanq stadium" could be a thing once they can start that deal? Just guessing as it was billed as one of the largest sponsor deals the clubs ever signed, the ground rights might also be part of it?

It loses its appeal once you've lived here for 27 years. ;)

I’m sure I suggested that may be an option when the partnership was mentioned. I can’t see the University being a great deal of money tbh.?

Hmm The MBanq Stadium you say?

Quite possibly will be up there for obvious ridicule like the Galpharm Stadium was.

I have a bad feeling about this Mbanq association. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about the business just doesn't quite add up. Hopefully I'm wrong!

Based on the commercial announcement by Sparks, and reading between the lines, it was either Bradford Uni or JCT they are replacing. So guessing you are correct

I don't know why but I have a feeling this Mbanq thing is not going to be a simple sponsorship deal. Didn't they say something along the lines that they were bringing something innovative and unique to football finance?

It'll be a Bradford City credit card where you earn points to spend on merch and tickets or something, I doubt it'll be anything exciting/ to worry about.

Have to agree. Anyone remember the short lived Intersonic stadium?! Getting similar vibes from these guys.

I work in the FS' industry - Mbanq are no fly by night shysters. They're a well established firm Stateside providing BaaS working with regional banks and fintech start ups over there. Essentially a software/tech provider for said banks. They were founded and run by former Deutsche execs and are a legit firm.

Why they have an interest in a northern L1 club and where it comes from though is an entirely different question.

I have my doubts. Despite their name, they are not an authorised or licenced bank which would prevent them providing financial services in the retail markets. They provide IT services to companies in the financial services sector snd appear to have a good reputation. They already have a small presence in the UK but I've no idea why they'd be interested in us.
