Agreed.

Lad deserved every bit of stick he got, and probably deserved to depart - but he didn't, and he has earned back his respect.

It goes to show it can be done, and probably takes some strength of character.

 

The final nail in the coffin that Notts County got the better of the “ deal” Platt V Baldwin.

In fairness Baldwin has since attained a decent average L1 defender status , whereas Platt remains an average fourth tier defender, now sadly badly injured….Ruptured ACL in late March .

 

Baldwin is streets ahead of Platt as a central defender.

Sorry to hear about Platt's bad injury though.

 

He is out of contract this summer too so tough times ahead and hoping he makes a full recovery. But injury aside, he thought the grass was greener in Nottingham.

 

Yeh player of the season is between Baldwin, Metcalfe and Sarcevic IMO.

Badlwin very consistent, Metcalfe most improved and Sarcevic is our most influential player. A case for all 3.

 

Based on social media comments, County fans really rate Platt and they were gutted with his injury as he'd been playing really well.

Sometimes it just clicks for players at a different club. I don't ever really recall thinking that Baldwin was an inferior player. He looks better in L1 than L2 to be honest. I know it doesn't always come off but when he gets his eye in some of those long cross field passes are really top drawer

 

We always give it to kids or full backs.

I will be voting for Sarc.

He is easily our most influential player.

 

Baldwin has better players surrounding him than last season so they bring better out of him. I actually think Sarcevic looks a better player this term as well and Tyriek is leaps and bounds better.

 

That's just recency bias with Tyreik though. Before Christmas he was quite poor and certainly most preferred Touray in that role.

Nobody is mentioning Pointon for player of the season. Scoring goals, giving his all every game. Power has voted him as his player's player of the season. He gets my vote too.

 

He gets mine as well. Had he come through any other academy, people would wax lyrical, but it's like, because he came through ours, he can't be that good. Joint top scorer at 22 from an attacking midfield spot is fantastic. In the summer, people were saying he'd struggle to make the step-up and that he was too lightweight. Even on Monday at half time, someone was saying his career would go no further, some have a thing against him, I have no doubt and had he come from Liverpool or Man City's academy, they would wax lyrical about him.

 

He has found his form, adjusted to the role - better late than never.

 

If it was based on games at VP then he probably wins it but he was anonymous for months on the road...Saturday aside.

 

I'd throw Tilt in as well.

 

I think Baldwin has been our best CB this season, something I never thought I'd say. But distribution is so important at this level, and although he's not perfect, he's better than the rest.

 

Think thats what peed people off about Tyriek we could all see there is a decent player in there but he never really showed it till now ............them goals he has been getting should be giving him one hell of a boost ..........i mean the odd one maybe classed as a fluke but its happening a lot more ofter now.

Onto Baldwin on the who i think the defence has done a great job tis season apart from the odd hiccup so they all deserve credit

 

Sarc is my own pick for POS but I actually don't mind who wins it because I think you could argue a case for probably 7 or 8 players, which just highlights what a team effort it has been this season.

 

He's easily been our most consistent and best centre half for me. He certainly hasn't made as many mistakes that led to goals as Baldwin anyway and he's roundly applauded for his consistency by some on here.
