WC Prediction League World Cup 2026

We are obviously around 2 months out from the first match of the 2026 World Cup and I was wondering what the interest in a World Cup prediction League?

The Group games kick off times are as follows



With only 29 of the 72 group games finishing before midnight logistically a Prediction Leagues going to more complicated. I would probably need to have multiple matches open at the same time and many of you will have to make predictions without knowing lineups.

If there is a decent interest I'm willing to make the adjustments to the framework we are using for the current City Prediction League (Well actually will be the one I'm using for the F1 prediction league as that's running on the next iteration of the framework that next season City one will be running on) that will support multiple matches being open but if we are only going to have 10 people taking part then it might not be worth it as those additions won't help next seasons City one

Just an update. I'm hopeful I will have it ready to do a World Cup Prediction League but my I've had to move development onto a version 2 of my prediction league code because the version 1.0 I was using for the F1 Prediction League couldn't be expanded in a way that I needed.

v2.0 at the moment takes all the best bit of the version 0.1 that we used for the Standard one last season plus many of the improvements of the version 1.0 but is all built around an API setup so rather than replicating the files for every single prediction league it will handle all of them under a single setup (well atleast football ones). So I will end up going to a single site, you will see the active prediction leagues and be able to select which one you want to use and go from there. And also there will be a full archive you can check of every single past prediction league (well everyone thats been run on Version 2 and beyond).

I still have a decent amount to get done to have it in a working state for the World Cup (It doesn't need to be perfect for the World Cup and some features aren't needed until next season standard one), if it goes smoothly It should be ready and I'll run a World Cup one but my cut off of having it in a working state is midday on the 10th and it will depends on how smoothly it goes and also how much unscheduled work I end up getting (If a client has an emergency with their site and it takes me 12 hours to fix and then that pushes other work back I might not get it sorted in time)
