You are talking about results, im talking about performances. I think they need to improve quickly to have a chance of winning the play offs. Good result, poor performance yesterday. I know we have it in us.

PS the manager and club also rate Baldwin, so.im not sure why you take every opportunity to criticise.

If that one that hit the bar went in then the mood would be very different on here. I think we rode oyr luck at times, a decent side would have put 2 or 3 past us.

Almost too honest. What he describes is clear for all to see he doesn't enjoy playing in that position and it curbs his natural game. I hope Jackson isn't far off

 

Good game for Hump. That play and ball into box for Bobby (I think) was brilliant. He just doesnt have that CF instinct....but as a footballer I like him.

Not the best of the games but its all about getting results now ...............very worst after the easter proggrame we will still have a gap to the chasing gap or create an even bigger one

 

I watched him closely at times yesterday and the lad ran his heart out till he was subbed. Might well have had a goal too. As you say, however, he's somehow developed a tendency to get caught on the ball in recent games and he needs to get that out of his game.

 

Always gonna be tough against a team with fook all to lose ............i would probably guess that it was Northamptons better games this season ...........do get what your saying we have to start upping it about now ..........last thing we need is going into the playoffs when the likes of Stockport,Bolton and whoever gets 6th will all be in decent form

Absolutely. Northampton are one of the worst sides in the division and with a crap defence. As I keep saying, we have it in us and 9 months and 46 games of hard work....I dont want us just to be relieved of a play off space, we arent there to make up the numbers!

I remember the heartbreak and frustration of our last 3 play offs.

 

Our final ball was pretty poor yesterday. Only really Metcalfe missed a chance he could have done better with. We didn’t have players missing loads of chances where better finishing would have got us a goal. I still maintain that we try too many one touch flicks and frenetic passing moves such that when it comes to the final ball we are often wasteful. Ironically, Sarcevic is probably the coolest when it comes to the final pass but he's also the guy you want shooting.

 

He's right in what he says and if the players are listening then we could go up.

 

I don't disagree but a play out home play off match against Stockport brings a very different atmosphere and a very different performance imo.

Yesterday was always going to be a test and we've seen over the years that the team can struggle when it's flat yet expectant inside the ground.

It's job done for now and the only slight moan for me was the lack of subs, especially Sarc who probably won't be able to feature much now down at Wycombe.

Defensively very competent but going forward we look clunky and very rarely look like scoring more than the odd goal. Probably the reason why the atmosphere rarely gets above lukewarm.

 

Nothing to see. He wants to run at them. Instead he has to deflect and take players away without the ball. Get on with it. That’s why we pay you 2 k a week big lad….
