Joking aside, it's not actually a bad idea to re introduce something like that but could have strict deadlines on buying tickets, say 72 hours, before the seat is released to general sale?

Could be an administrative nightmare, I'm not sure but it would guarantee seats that aren't being used are automatically released back for sale.

I think they will only look at it again if we start to lose season ticket holders

That defies the logic of having a season ticket doesn’t it?

Or for high profile games they could bring in a system via the app where you must ‘claim’ your seat before 12 noon the previous day or it gets released.

Premier League clubs now have a "forwarding system" which allows you to forward your season ticket on to a member for any specific match,
As long as you've got the other person's membership number, input, forward and the ticket appears on the individual club's ticketing app.

Simple as that. Surley, this is an easy option which could be explored with Ticketmaster?

I've got my own forwarding system.

I just send them a screenshot of the qr code, no ticket master admin fee involved

Presumably you’ve continued to do that without any problems since the club explicitly said a while ago that it is not allowed and would be checked at the turnstiles?

    If he hasn’t,I certainly have.

    It’s a QR code

I’m interested how they think they can differentiate one in a wallet and one that has been screenshot.?

The simple answer is that they can’t.

Tell your friend, the turnstile operators obviously don't have a picture of everyone who's bought a ticket for the game and given screenshots are impossible (I'd imagine) for a scanner to distinguish from the original ticket then there's absolutely no way to tell if it's me entering or "Jim from the end of the road".

And given it also introduces potential new customers to VP, at zero cost to the club then I view it as a positive.

I also know for a fact that one person who wasn't particularly a football fan used mine and my daughters ticket a few years ago and now has a season ticket in B block with his two young kids.

    They can't.

It's only a QR Code, it's not NFC and it isn't locked down to one device.

Yes - the club can say, please don't screen shot, but the way they do it allows you to do so.

Saw it this morning, honestly fantastic news and a massive well done to everyone who's emailed the club complaining about this.
Never underestimate fan power in situations like this.

    Now begs the question, WHY?
Why would you even contemplate upsetting your core fan base.
Why would you spend all that money on a segregation gate when basics like "hot water" and toilet facilities that your daughter feels comfortable going too are inadequate.

That is disappointing that @Sergio Pinto III@Sergio Pinto III won't be able to cheer on the larger amount of travelling fans bursting at the seams in the expanded away end. Ah well.

Good job you didn't have the bottle to take the bet either @Loyalbantam@Loyalbantam

If the TL Dallas has 1840 seats, then revamping the Bradford End (It is the oldest section of the stadium, now 40 years old) extending the structure towards the Midland Road and adding just over half a block on both tiers, to the stand would hit the requisite 2,000 tickets, for away supporters.
There are 10 blocks in the TL Dallas, so each block will hold around 184. It looks like there are eleven rows on the top tier and ten on the lower so only an additional ten by eleven required
    Easier to manage with segregation.
At the same time update the facilities food/drink booths and toilets.
They could possibly incorporate the Scoreboard into the roofline (the scoreboard is now ten years old!).
If they reroofed the stand they could remove the pillars from the top tier.
I accept that there will be costs, but with modern piling techniques and possibly a small cantilever, then it should be achievable. There are no houses opposite that section the ground, on Holywell Ash Lane.

Can't see the capacity being altered too much due to geographical restraints but I'm with you Rod, something needs doing to the Bradtord End in the future.

Move on , businesses dip their toes in the water to see what consumer reaction is. If not, it’s a shockingly poor business! We would complain if the club wasn’t business savvy, and now we do when they are being. WHY is irrelevant , as the club have seen the reaction.

I find it difficult to understand what it would be and respect nothing is impossible , but whilst HolywellAsh Lane remains , as do the houses it would be difficult and very very expensive RT…

It was purely about financial gain - the away end sells out more than the home end - facts fella. Hopefully in the not to distant future you are told to move and we all see you crying some more.
