The play off dates have been announced although as usual they will be subject to change once the fixtures are finalised due to police etc.

    1st legs
    • Saturday 9th May at 3pm (6th vs 3rd)
    • Saturday 9th May at 8pm (5th vs 4th)
    2nd legs
    • Wednesday 13th May at 8pm (3rd vs 6th)
    • Thursday 14th May at 8pm (4th vs 5th)
    Final: Sunday 24th May

It is very unlikely but if us and Huddersfield were to finish 4th and 5th I don't see how the police let it stay at 8pm and would expect it will be swapped with the Championship game at 12:30.

I really hope we avoid 5th or 4th because I am out that night. The way we are playing recently I haven't ruled out us just dropping out altogether and yes I know that is a negative view but our form is terrible and the timing is so bad at this crucial point in the season.

On the above I feel it's unlikely Huddersfield will make the playoffs at all - they are on patchy form and have some tricky fixtures next month.

Although not confirmed yet, I'd expect the PO final to be a 1/1:30 KO due to it been final day of Premier League and Sky won't want a clash with that.

Could be a mass exodus from West Yorks as Leeds are at West ham too

With the added bonus of sharing the trains with your Leeds chums :)

can not imagine the police would be happy if us and Huddersfield were to finish 5th and 6th and they had to deal with both games on the Saturday afternoon/evening.

Twelve hour shift on overtime rates £££££££? I guess the Police may well be quite happy.

Me and the wife carried on our terrible record whilst being out on holiday mid-season, of City being winless whilst we are out of England. I think we counted in a pub in Toronto after the Burton loss that we have been out of the nation for 15/16 games in the last 10 years or so and we've managed 2 draws at best in those matches....... the wife wants to go to Edinburgh for the last May bank hol weekend.....

I'll put it back until June just in case o_O hopefully we find some away form before the play offs!

    Imagine the dream scenario
City win playoff final v Huddersfield
    Leeds relegated at West ham.
Be a lot of fun travelling back

The date of the Final has been available for quite some time. The semi’s are usually the same amount of days after the end of the season and the actual final. So very little difference there.
The actual dates and in particular the times of the semi’s has been firmed up.
I am not sure why the second legs couldn’t have been played on Saturday 16th, rather than midweek.
It seems crass and insensitive for the travelling fans, many will probably have to take one if not two days off.

The FA Cup final is on 16th so they won't want to clash with that especially as the kick off time for that hasn't be confirmed yet which makes it even harder to avoid. It also gives clubs a few extra days to sort out ticketing for the final as well as giving fans more time.

League one is nearly always Sunday, 2017 was an exception due to fa cup final the following week meaning league two had to be put in sunday

Sounds horrific! Imagine fearing for yourself and family safety on a day we should be elated.

Thanks, I hadn’t factored in the FA Cup final. Historically it was 3.00pm but I understand they may go for 4.30pm.
So if Semi Final (1) kicked off at 12.30 and Semi Final (2) at 7.15 (or 7.30/45), then they wouldn’t clash with the Final, whatever time it started and finished?
In reality 2/3 days to sort out the tickets is not much more time. I assume that a well planned timetable could address that issue.

Going off on a slight tangent here..
Long gone are the days when all 4 leagues would end on the same day, This year EFL ends 3rd May but Prem ends May 30th..
11 days before the start of the world cup..
Other major European leagues end 22/23 May giving them plenty of time to prep for the world cup..

Our premier league prima-donnas will be complaining of fatigue jet lag and blisters whereas the rest of the world will just get on with it.. Its crazy the FA and Prem league didnt consider the World Cup into their planning this season
