Wrexham for the anger they get are a different club to your Huddersfields, Stokes etc.

I think Reynolds and Rob put initial funds in, but since then they've gathered massive sponsorships because of the Disney series. So it's all legitimate income, as opposed to directors chucking money in.

I would prefer that to owners loans etc....

So they are feeling the high wages pinch already. If outside income from all sources was sustaining the club then they wouldn’t have to “buy” their own shares , or am I missing something? @Dennis@Dennis

They appear to have converted some of their original loans to the club into equity as required under P&SR regs. It's difficult to tell completely as yet but probably used to cover some of their playing costs and possibly their ground development.

If Wrexham were able to sustain themselves from outside sources, they'd be very unusual in the Championship, if not unique. No other club has done that from their day-to-day operations in the past few years. If we ever get there, we'd be no different.

Be interested to see a proper breakdown of their finances. United won't be paying nothing, and whoever else sponsor them. Plus income from Disney etc.

I stand corrected that the owners weren't pumping money in, although how it's done seems to be the question

I actually wonder whether, absent of a sale, Rupp would prefer to see us fall just short of winning promotion.

I would have thought a relatively debt free Championship club might attract more offers than a "sustainable" L1 club

We wouldn't be dept free for long in the championship.. although I'd love to see us with an ownership with ambitions and deep pockets

Exactly, but Rupp would certainly find it easier to sell

That's my view and has been for some time. I don't believe however that it's one supported or welcomed by many fans. Maybe he has a cunning plan with a potential buyer waiting in the wings were we to be promoted? I don't imagine for one moment that Rupp will be digging deep into his own pockets to underwrite the significant losses of a Championship club. It's a huge financial gamble for him until a buyer turns up.

I suggested in a different thread somewhere on here about a gallant failure at Wembley being a best possible scenario. Hope I am totally wrong.

Only if we tried to match spending! He wouldn’t have to invest more, unless his eyes lit up at the dream …..

Mbanq said "More details in June 2026. Until then, we’re supporting — and we’re listening."

I’m pretty sure they are unable to say anything whilst engaged in a current deal with some of the existing sponsors, be it ground , shirts etc .

One new change that will be coming in from the independent regulator is that to get a licence to compete in the top 5 divisions from 27/28 you must prove you can pass the "major financial shock" test which means they have to prove they can cope with changes in finances like relegation or owner withdrawing funds. Within this player sales can't be counted in it so it's likely to mean clubs have to keep a pot of money to the side just in case. It will be interesting to see how the first round of licenses go later this year as I think a lot of clubs could be in trouble with this.
