Yes! The new gate is positioned next to the refreshment kiosk. So when in use there will only be one way into D block. This makes me think half of D block will be the new no go area and half will have to relocate.

How can they suddenly just kick you out of a seat you’ve sat in for years - another massive *@?$ up with no thought for fans.

Makes sense. Away fans sell out more than home fans so its extra income and a smart move.

Exactly! I don’t remember having to move when we in the premiership, no matter who we played.

I bet you’re not one who has a seat in this stand/block and gets kicked out of your seat though. I’m alright jack

This then confirms what the plans are which is to give away fans 2000 in Midland Road. I don't think it's likely we will see this coming in for the Bolton game but assuming we make it to the play offs I wouldn't be surprised if we go for the new reconfiguration for that game which is why we've put the gate in now rather than waiting to the summer.
Long Term I think the only time we will do it would be where we are confident enough we will sell out the home end which will be very rare in league 1 as we've only done it once this season.

It seems it offers a degree of flexibility. In very round figures, these are my best guess scenarios:

Option 1 - Up to c.2 blocks of Midland Road = up to c. 1,300 = default away league allocation for a poorly supported club.

Option 2 - Up to c.2 blocks of Midland Road + Bradford End = up to c. 3,000 = standard away league allocation for a well supported club.

Option 3 - Up to c.3½ blocks of Midland Road + Bradford End = up to c. 3,500 = away cup allocation for a well supported club where the rules require 15% of the capacity to be given to the away club.

Option 4 - All of Midland Road = up to c. 4,500 = away cup/play off allocation for a well supported club where home demand isn't high and/or the policing/safety logistics of housing the away fans on Midland Road 'demand' it.

Option 5 - Up to c.3½ blocks of Midland Road = up to c. 2,000 = alternative away league allocation where there is huge demand for home tickets (and it puts home fans behind both goals).

Only options 3, 4 and 5 would affect those in Midland Road blocks D and E and I wouldn't expect that to happen for a league match very often, if at all.

If I've got this right, the new self serve pumps have gone if that's the area I'm thinking by the old bookies?

Thank you for your email, and I’m glad we’ve managed to get communication flowing properly now. I appreciate you taking the time to set out your thoughts in detail.

I’m pleased the update offered some reassurance, and I’m more than happy to clarify the additional points you’ve raised.

Regarding your question about league games:
The same position applies — there are no plans to convert Blocks D or E into an away‑only section for league fixtures. Any movement of the segregation line would only ever take place in exceptional circumstances, and not as part of our standard approach for league matches.

On the installation of the new gates:
I understand why this may appear to indicate broader plans for the East Stand. The gates have been installed simply to give us operational flexibility should we ever need it, rather than because any specific changes are planned for Blocks D & E. Having the infrastructure in place ensures we can manage certain fixtures more safely if required, but it does not mean a permanent or regular move of home supporters is expected.

In terms of seating quality and suitable alternatives:
I completely recognise your point about Blocks D & E being among the best seats in the stadium. We’re very aware of the value they hold for long‑standing supporters, and you’re right that with rising attendances, finding like‑for‑like alternatives is more challenging.

If we were ever in a position where relocation was necessary, we would:

    • Contact supporters well in advance,
    • Work individually with everyone affected,
    • Ensure alternative seating options are carefully considered,
    • Do everything possible to keep families, friends and long‑standing groups together.

Maintaining the matchday experience for supporters with such long histories at the club is extremely important to us, and any exceptional adjustments would be handled with that firmly in mind.

I hope this helps clarify things further, but if you have any other questions — or if anything else comes to mind — please feel free to drop me another message.

    Kind regards

So to clarify, if your tickets are in D or E block of the Midland Road stand there might be a rare occasion where you have to move seat, those occasions being at our discretion.

Many clubs around the country occasionally reconfigure where home and away fans sit. The seats are NOT yours just because you’ve sat there for 30 years, they are rented to you and if the club decides to re-allocate them, they can.
It’s like renting a house for 30 years then the landlord tells you to move out. Nothing you can do I’m afraid.
Didn’t Leeds move away fans from the South East corner to the West Stand where ST holders might have sat since the days of Billy Bremner. I bet they didn’t like it but tough shit.

That’s the area, the pumps were there last night but the gate will block off the entry between E & D block.

Which is fair enough if it's communicated in good time and correctly.

I've sat in all 4 stands in my time so I'm not unopposed to the odd game elsewhere.

Ive read the email replies and it could have been dealt with so much easier from the start. Just tell people the truth from the beginning

The fairest way also is to give the E block fans a priority window to swap seats on the 11th April 9am.
