In fact I’d go as far to say that on the occasions where MR are moved, they should make the entire stadium unreserved excluding the suites.

But I think the point is we want to ONLY give them 2000 not 2700 and neither of the current single stand options gives away teams the minimum hence why we need to give them E block.
If the TL Dallas stand wasn’t so pathetic then home fans might agree to sit there.
If only the council would let us compulsory purchase the houses / land behind the stand so we can build.

I don't believe that is the club's rationale. They want the extra revenue from having more away fans, not less, and don't mind pissing off the home fans in return. If as you say, the club wanted to restrict the number to 2,000 away fans say, simply limit the away fans to 2,000 tickets in the TL Dallas and 1 block of the MR.

I'll remember to smile :grinning:. However. Yes there will be lots of empty seats tonight, but I imagine Mansfield on a Tuesday night wouldn't be one of the games where they would plan on moving home fans from Midland Road.

The problem I can see immediately is the games with the big away followings are the ones home fans want to be at.

What if we play Sheff Wed etc on a Tuesday night next season ?
It’s been well documented that many of our fans can’t make it or can’t be bothered venturing into Bradford on a Tuesday night especially with all games shown on TV, yet someone like Sheff Wed would still bring 4000 if we let them.

I’m not sure about that and if so it makes a mockery of the usual excuses people give.
    1. Working
    2. Live too far away
    3. Bradford not safe at night
    4. It’s a school night
    5. It’s on telly
    6. It’s cold and wet
    7. On holiday

none of the above would apply if we were playing Leeds or Spurs.

Unbelievably I actually agree with a lot of the comments you make about empty seats. But getting back to the point of making 3 blocks in the main stand unreserved and potentially allowing a few hundred extra fans in who have been displaced from the Midland Road. It can't work on safety grounds alone.....UNLESS the club were to operate some sort of scheme whereby season ticket holders have to inform the club if they are not attending! Can't see that happening :joy:.

PS I love a Tuesday night match whatever the weather and regardless of weather or not its on telly.

The club has history of pi**ing off fans unnecessarily.

Carlisle was mentioned above and let's not forget the move of the 'atmosphere section' to B Block.....that was organised well wasn't it!!!

So the segregation in the midland road means around 340 seats are rarely used, but 1500 are the same on many occasions in the TL Dallas
Why not then try and make these seats more acceptable to home fans. It is the oldest part of the stadium and must be due some sort of overhaul
Surely something could be done to extend the top tier towards the Midland road increasing capacity in that bit and possibly make the bottom tier a concourse with the pitch obscured from view to enable the sale of alcohol, improved toilets, seating etc
I understand all this takes money and all this current seating issue is about that
More away fans = more cash, but surely with further improvements to our playing status, we can maintain the 2000 away fans and fill the ground with our own, who will hopefully come back every game, not just visit because their team happens to be in town that day

Carlisle the clubs hands were tied 15% is the required minimum of ground capacity for cup games, which the playoffs are ,so approximately 3600. Other than MR, where could you house them safely
I like the atmosphere section in B block , just not well done by the club

No, that's not correct. The play-off games are not cup matches but an extension of the league competition and subject to the usual EFL league regs. The club said that the away limit for the Carlisle game was 2400, which is 10% or so of the official capacity. That was based on their misreading of the Regs., A few people contacted the club and pointed out the club's mistake. Eventually, the club begrudgingly agreed but by that point it was too late to change.

Well if that’s the case , then the club should know the rules
Surely it’s much better to have the maximum number of home supporters
We all know that money will be behind most decisions, but beware pissing off fans that are usually there no matter what

You'd have thought so wouldn't you.

I mean one look at this thread alone from the people who sit in Blocks D&E and surley they can see they've already upset a lot of people, not to mention the countless emails they must of had too.

The more I've read the response from Paula, the more questions I've got.

Yes, the club should know the Regs and they have no excuse for not knowing. The EFL even has a hotline for clubs if necessary. There are posters on here who could read the Regs properly and wrote to the club saying the club had misread the EFL's Regs but without much success. Interestingly, the person who made the decision was Marco Townsen. At the time he had the title of Director of Supporter Services and Ticketing and a few other things as well. He left the club under a bit of a cloud some months later.

That won't work as blocks e,f and g don't hold the required 2000 seats. You'd need to give them a chunk of d block too.
