Agree CT, when we go a goal down away from home, I never seem to have the confidence that we will overcome it (Stockport being the exception) and don't expect any fight back.
Go two down and that's it, another away defeat coming - baffling and I expect a reaction but it never seems to come.

Really poor today. Some tired legs but our poor squad depth in certain areas means the likes of Pointon and Sarcevic have to start if fit. Subs made us worse, Swan isn't a ten and Mullin isn't anywhere near this level.

Bigger concern for me is how we tend to roll over as soon as we go behind. Since Rotherham away in October we've played 30 games in all competitions and been in a losing position in 13 of those games. We've not got a single point from those games which is really poor.

As poor as we were today apart from a well worked first goal and a gift for the second there was not a lot of difference between the two sides.

When their goal keepers wasting time after they scored was pathetic, the referee had a word with him but took no action.

The issue today imo is that too many of the players looked to be running on empty. Thought we got bullied a bit to be honest.
That stat is poor but I think the reason for that is simply that we dont have many goals in the team. Even in recent games where weve battered the opposition v Port Vale and Peterborough we still only managed 2 goals. We haven't scored 3 since Cardiff.
I dont think our inability to come from behind is down to a lack of character. I just think that when teams go ahead against us, we then become relatively easy to defend against.

Interestingly I was thinking about our four Wembley appearances in my lifetime this morning. When we scored we never lost and never conceded a goal. When we lost we never scored.

Not going to make excuses about tiredness as we've mainly put in performances like today for most of our away games lately. It just seems that if we go one down we just get worse. Unlike our home form. I'd love to see a reel on the quality of opposition goals scored against us away from home. I bet most haven't really been scored by a touch of brilliance, rather a mistake through desire, carelessness or downright apathy. We never to seem to get a gimmie. Like last season our home form could be our salvation.

What a difference a day makes(or 3 in this case)..

On Wednesday we were all extolling the virtues of skill, guile and attacking flair and now some are bemoaning the loss of our league 2 squad.

If we were knackered before today's game how poor are we gonna be in 72 hours...?

Just got back. Another crap performance on the road. Who would have guessed?

Pennington the worst offender in my eyes. Crap. At fault for their first and constantly passing back, stopping endless attacks

Wright looked like he couldnt be arsed. Refused to overlap countless times

    Touray poorest game all season

we havent got a midfielder thats capable of creating something out of nothing, so when the wing play fails, we look clueless

We must be doing something right, a recently promoted side 4th in league one in their first season back. Yes we weren't at the races today but jeez some of the over reactions makes me think half the fan base suffer from bipolar. We suffered today because our three most influential players either didin't play or had poor games for the standards they have set themselves. Baldwin is pivotal to our backline no matter what anyone thinks we are far more solid with him in the centre of defence, Sarce has to play no matter what but we can't guarantee he's gonna be the influence we know he is most games, and arguably our most influential player of Jenson Metcalfe, had his poorest game for some considerable time.
We have to accept right now we aren't at the levels of Lincoln or Cardiff, both these sides are on a different level to anything else in this division. After that i'd fancy our chances against anyone in the playoffs no matter where we finish in the top six.

Some even blaming tiredness when just a few weeks ago when we lost to Wimbledon many were saying professional footballers shouldn’t be fatigued and that Alexander should stick to the same XI game after game. You couldn’t make it up. We appear to have a neurotic fan base at times.

Alexander can't win, he changes the team he should stick with the same eleven, he sticks with the same eleven and then some shout for change. Personally i thought he picked the right side, i'm one for sticking with a winning formula, that doesn't mean it guarantees us a victory.

Can anyone tell me what the point of Mullin is? He offers absolutely nothing.

Having people behind him that could create anything would be a good start.

They did. A horrible side to play against. Niggly fouls, time wasting galore but in fairness it worked for them. Worryingly if we make the play offs, one of our possible opponents could be Stevenage who are similar imo.

I saw 2 very good balls from Neufville and Touray into the box and he was absolutely nowhere to be seen.

Unfortunately for Mullin our success has been built on not having to 'serve' a goal scorer but rather having everyone contributing to forcing chances and contributing to our build up and attacking play.
