Difference is Bolton try to score and win games away from home. That's not something we can say about too many of our away games

 

The keeper and striker situation is very worrying..

Shots on target for the opposition usually result in goals… and we just cant hit the target… has their keeper done anything today ?

 

And how many goals has he scored?

 

Walker couldn’t do much with the first, but have to say he was poor for the second just like that goal against Orient. Thankfully Port Vale’s only shot on target was a pass back to him more or less. Low towards a corner and he gets nowhere near it.

 

Not as many as I would want from a Striker getting start after start after start

Only thing that went our way was a couple of poor results from other teams around us.

 

Never got a look in.....nothing else to say....

 

Yet another away game were the team didn't put any effort in to try and win

 

Chance to go 3rd, fookin blow it. Like last season, don't want to things easy!

 

Credit to Wigan. They completely nulified us. A few results elsewhere have ended in our favour so the gap reduces to 8 but could have been worse.

 

Argh frustrating result. Disappointing performance but not going to lose sleep over it. Too many of the ever reliable were well off it with only really Power offering anything near the norm. Thought Sarce, Tourey, Tilt, Metcalfe, Wright were poor or offered little. Sadly the bench didn’t offer much and agree with Jones on commentary, Swan barely made any impact. We made it so easy for Wigan who I thought pressed well, but looked very mediocre aside of two very well taken goals.

Annoying to not kick on after Port Vale but 3 games got the better of us, which begs the question why did GA not make changes today?

 

It's not the results away that are the most concerning for me.

It's the apparent mindset of the team in those games where composure and quality seem to go missing on a regular basis.

 

Alexander's formation of 1 up front from the offset is terrible. Does not scare anyone and wigan seemed nervous to start off with.


Why not play 2 up front one tall with pace and one on front thinking Hanson and Wells type partnership.

We didn't play well today, Pointon and sarcievic have outside factors but our midfield let us down

I dont like our players leading with arms it costs us fouls

Really poor to not get a result but we again are getting help from other games

Starting to feel like last season where the last 10ish games Alexander could not motivate us and he needs to work on changing the script.

 

Shocking. We looked knackered. Wigan did us with the press allowing us no time on the ball.

 

Whatever the question is Mullin is not the answer ...

 

Not too many complaints from me. The whole side looked shattered after 15 minutes so they were clearly affected by their efforts on a heavy pitch on Wednesday. Every player a yard off the pace. Just the way it goes sometimes. We move on.

Awful performance and result, however, a very good season. Almost don't want play offs as we are so underprepared for promotion. We need a new core from goalkeeper, centre half (with pace and leader), midfield (to take over from Power) and striker (again with pace). Will our football head be able to get them in the summer?

 

Looked shattered.

Meanwhile... Other teams can still win back to back. So I call that ball-locks. Question our players mentality.

 

Do we have a really unfit squad?

Time and time again Alexander says he has to be cautious around players minutes thus the rotation away from home and midweek games.

Today was obvious why he does it , never seen so many players just strolling around and treading water when needing to run.

As professionals that was a disgrace some were knackered after five minutes
