Ground reconfiguration for away fans

Afternoon. Long term lurker, first time poster.

Can’t believe this has come around yet again. Been in the MR, Block D, since the beginning and there’s been numerous rumours of this happening over time, but it never has, as sense has remained. This time feels different and very unsettling - new divider gates have already been put on the entrances between blocks D-E and E-F.

I am hoping that any reconfig would be just for cup matches and we wouldn’t be permanently thrown out of our seats we’ve had for 30 years. They are some of the best seats in the house and I’m sure for 2-3 seasons during this time we even used to pay a little extra purely because of their location. For them to be given to away fans who may not even use the full allocation seems ludicrous (like Leyton Orient yesterday).

I emailed Ryan Sparks last night and, after reading this thread, have sent it also on to Paula Watson last night.

Let’s hope common sense prevails and the people currently employed by the club, who one day will move on, don’t make a decision that no one else has in the last 30 years.

 

What I was told was market value ,plus 10k for expenses was the offer
They were too far apart to make a deal , hence the cut out to the kop top right hand corner
Probably 10 houses on Rock terrace , would have cost City an extra £700k to give the owners what they wanted
In hind sight, with admin most of that would have been wiped, but it would have meant an easier option to have a north east corner linking the kop and midland road
Unfortunately if we advance much further VP becomes stretched for capacity and we have very little room for expansion and moving to a new stadium is a pipe dream

 

Other than suite upgrades and age variants, I don’t think we have had any other tiered pricing
It would surely have counted in the main stand in those central blocks
We aren’t the doggies with their 100 price bands

 

Yes maybe "plans" weren't the correct word, the clubs intention would have been more appropriate.

 

A-D will remain, E is going to away fans from next season, even if we stay in league 1..
Theres the possibility that teams with large away followings are on their way down.. Wednesday and “
Leicester would sell out E F G and TL Dallas as would at least 5/6 others in league 1.

Its all about maximising revenue..

 

These days though it would be a wide fitting orthapeadic boot. haha

To achieve this they must free up empty / blocked seats in the main stand so that the displaced E block fans have a decent choice of seat to move to.

 

I probably won't be here by the end of the next 25 year lease but it would be interesting to know what Valley Parade could possibly look like by then. Regardless of planning problems, if nothing changes to VP in that time it will have remained the same since BFGs building spree at the turn of the millennium, that's the best part of 50 years for a stadium where parts of it are already well past their sell by date.

 

Not saying you’re fibbing but where did you get this information from out of interest?

 

I emailed Paula Watson and the Supporters Board Thursday/Friday last week, still no reply from either.

Pretty poor to be honest, but do you expect anything else from this club in regards to “proper communication”

Judging by your name you must be in Midland Road stand Have you not noticed the shiny new gates at the top and bottom of Block E ?

Although if we do have away fans in block E, they would also probably have to move the segregation gate on the concourse.. maybe they forgot that bot of detail.. not looking good for Block E people

Yeah, the gate inside I don’t think it’s an issue as we’ve had away fans in block E before without the need the move the inside segregation gate.
They’ve just got to go along the row.

 

Ban all away fans from VP, resulting in a ban on our fans away from home
With the current form, that’s a win win

 

A week later, still no reply from Paula via email.
Pretty poor communication to be honest (unless she’s on annual leave - no out of office mind) plus nothing from the supporters board either.
