Quite a discussion re Sarcs on the league 1 forum after a Bolton fan wrote he did nothing for them. Another Bolton fan didn't agree:-
Bloody hell, boy that escalated quickly. For what it's worth i quite liked Sarcevic at Bolton, Evatt fell out with him and isolated him from the first team squad.He was then shipped out to Stockport. I would have much preferred to have got rid of Evatt.
Even a Swansea fan joined in, listing his achievements and pointing out that he made the league 2 team of the season in Bolton's promotion year.

I dont often notice opposition players but I do remember Sarc playing for Bolton against us in the Covid season. Thought he stood out a mile and bossed it.

 

I've lurked on that forum for a while and the Bolton fan who started that discussion is a complete troll who could fall out with himself given chance.

Don't think many of his former clubs' fans would have bad things to say about Sarce

not true that he wasn’t liked at Bolton 64, he was as appreciated there as much he is now at VP but he had a fall out with Evatt and County offered him a way out. He’s been a huge miss and I’ve no hesitation in saying that if he’d stayed Wanderers would now be in the Championship. Evatts his own worst enemy an egotistical idiot who thinks he knows it all. He hates players of character who’ll disagree with him as he wants it his own way so he just recruits yes men and wimps. Look at what he’s doing at Blackpool imposing his negative sideways crap on them. You’ve an absolute star in Sarce and I’d still have him back at the Reebok tomorrow.

 

Nobody seems to have a good word about Evatt by the way?

 

Stockport fans after we beat them at home also were questioning their club not giving him a 2 year deal when we signed him.

 

Our win rate with Sarce in the team is outstanding, if fit he plays, simple as.
Always looks knackered after 20 minutes, but just keeps going.

 

Oh, I could talk about him all day. One of the most complete footballers I’ve had the pleasure of watching in over 60 years. He is not a flair player with tricks, he’s just an all round intelligent player. No wonder GA offered him what he wanted (a 2 year contract).

Absolute quality at that level. You've got yourself a decent player there. Gutted he's gone because I thought he could do a job in L1 but I think the club is looking 2 or 3 years ahead and that he might not be up to it by then. Rumour is they only offered him and Madden (who's an even bigger loss and now at Chesterfield) one year when they wanted two.
I'd say he's best playing as an attacking midfielder - one of those that sits somewhere between midfield and your front men. Doesn't mind a tackle either though. Come back to me in February when he's been dogshit for 6 months...
Got your lot down to get promoted next season. Don't think there's much to worry about from L1 and whilst Chesterfield might fancy a go at the POs, I'm not sure anyone's looking like they're going to throw a load of money at it. If Notts County can hold onto their front men and employ some defenders for a change, I fancy them to be up there too. But, it's time for Bradford now, surely...?
