Yes in modern day football its not about winning the tackle but being in control after you've made the challenge, which when you go in as committed as Baldwin did its difficult if not impossible to be in complete control. Exactly how Mark Bower saw it, a few years ago it would have been brushed away by the referee but in the modern game he believes if we do appeal it the FA wont overturn the referee decision.

 

Didn’t Jamie Raynor say in the first half that the referee hasn’t given a red card out before, or something like that?

Dominant performance today but we were once again unable to turn dominance into goals. Luckily we saw it through unlike against Reading.

I’d much prefer to see Wheatley coming off the bench. His pace and movement would be a useful asset in the last 15 minutes of a game, especially if the opposition are pushing for a goal. I just don’t see him as a starting striker, not sure he’ll ever score a goal. The only issue without Jackson I don’t know who starts up front, not convinced by Mullin albeit he’s only had a handful of minutes.

 

There’s always a discussion about players who are the first name on the team sheet.

If he’s available it’s Sarcevic.

I had to check my phone when Radio Leeds said we were still 4th in the league, as I'd only looked at the Bolton game a couple of minutes before the 4th official put the injury time up, fair play to them because Wycombe Wanderers were looking like a team who would make a late challenge for a play off place.

 

Difficult to disagree with that.

 

I thought Wheatley had a good game. His finishing isn't there yet and he needs a goal for confidence, but his movement, awareness of what's around him etc is really good. I think there's a good chance he'll develop into at least a championship player, possibly PL in 3 or 4 years, and if there's any chance we can take him permanently we should.

 

Metcalf is right there next to him.

 

Lets put our away form to bed in the next two games, if we can do that were in the driving seat with regards our own destiny.

 

We are definitely weaker without Metcalfe in the team but I think we are half the side without Sarcevic.
Everything good in the first 20/25 minutes when we were so on top started with him.
He scores the first goal and if you could pick any player to be in that situation for the winner it’s Sarcevic all day long.
Never once thought he wouldn’t score.
Can’t say that about any other player.

 

I'll be in the minority here, but the ref wasn't as bad as is being made out in my opinion.

 

Did well despite the fooking piss poor ref sadly if the refs at the very top are poor what do you really think there gonna be like down at this level ???,

Well done the lads against what was a ref that was beyond belief. The best way to deal with an a** like that is to do it and they showed grit and determination to get the job done.

We need to seriously forget the 1 up front to give teams a threat.

At least baldwin will have some time to recover safely
