EFL don't have any involvement in if we made it standing or not, that would be with the safety advisory group.
For the 71 seats less it is likely that a club would complain and it would be upheld just like how clubs complained about Stockport who tried to put away fans in the 2 blocks at the side which are around 900 when 10% of their capacity is just over 1000.
Doncaster followed the rules and did what most other clubs do. If we get to the play off then expect to get the minimum allocation, if we play Bolton we'll only get 2,000 just like Barnsley did a couple of years ago.

And that is where it is corrupt!
A club should identify the minimum number of tickets available at the beginning of the season and have to make the number available throughout the season, potential play offs included.
Doncaster had several teams visit them, where they benefited from the increased income.
The reduction in allocated seats for City’s visit, was a truly malicious attempt to manipulate the system to create an unfair advantage.

The allocation in the cup games are irrelevant to ST holders though in a sense as everyone in the MR knows that in earlier rounds the seat isn't available and for bigger games they may need to forfeit their seat. Everyone is happy with that arrangement as far as I can see.

Not sure, the demagraphic of the stadium aren't the best although in this day and age I'd have thought modern engineering could find a way, I've been watching the construction of the new Wrexham Kop and its amazing what they can do, I would expect challenges from the locals, as was the case when we built the Kop, those opposing the building said it would cut their day light out.

from what I heard , they only objected after the club would not increase an offer to buy them out
Not sure how true, but apparently wanted twice market value of their property

Doubt it but I’m sure the Midland Road stand was designed so another tier could be added.

Just an update for you, @NorthernMonkey@NorthernMonkey I emailed Paula Watson on Thursday, still no reply.

Emailed the Supporters Board on Friday, no reply.

Will give it until Tuesday to chase with both.
    —-
    Good Morning Paula,

    I hope you’re well.

I’m writing regarding the rumours about a potential reconfiguration of the Midland Road Stand, specifically Blocks D and E.

In the Supporters Board minutes from 15th January, Ryan Sparks referenced possible options around away fan allocation and the configuration of home and away seating. One option mentioned adjusting the segregation line in the Midland Road Stand to allow greater flexibility when away allocations exceed usual capacities. A more radical option – although stated as not the preferred approach – would involve reversing the home and away ends entirely, similar to the arrangement used for the Carlisle play-off match. At the time these ideas were described as exploratory with no decisions made.

More recently, the Bradford City Supporters Trust minutes from their February meeting referenced plans to install a second segregation gate in the Midland Road Stand to allow for greater flexibility.

Naturally, this has led to concerns that this could potentially involve relocating season ticket holders in Blocks D and E. If that is a possibility, I’m surprised there hasn’t been any communication with those affected.

We all understand and accept the terms and conditions that mean Midland Road season ticket holders may occasionally have to move for FA Cup or Carabao Cup fixtures if allocations require it. However, the idea of losing our seats for league fixtures as well would feel like a significant change.

Block D in particular offers one of the best views in the stadium, which is why many supporters have chosen to sit there for years. In some cases people have held the same seats since the stand opened in 1997, and many of us have built long-standing friendships around those seats. We’re now even bringing our own children along and continuing those traditions.

Given that today is season ticket renewal day, there is understandably a lot of concern among supporters this morning. It would be really helpful if the club could clarify whether there are any plans that might affect season ticket holders in Blocks D and E before people make renewal decisions.

I’d appreciate any information you’re able to share.

    Many thanks,

Not really , we would do it under the same circumstances. If someone offered my say 50% above market value for my house I’d book the removal wagons tomorrow . They had an asset they could bargain with . It only takes one to refuse and it just wouldn’t happen anyway. I know those streets well Jon, In was born behind the BFD End . ( Sang to the tune of “I was born under a wandering star “ eh @Bronco@Bronco , @Chippy@Chippy ??

Your correct the plans were that it would eventually be a 35,000 all seater stadium with a two tied stand on the Midland Road side that would consist of it being built over Midland Road, where the turnstiles would be I'm not sure ?.

The enlargement of the MR was originally intended as the 3rd phase of the development of VP. Stage 1 - extend the main stand towards the Bradford End. Stage 2 - Enlarge the Bradford End onto Holly Well Ash Lane. Stage 3 - Enlarge the MR stand over Midland Road. This was simply an initial idea and never reached beyond that.

The only firm proposal designed and submitted was to extend the main stand. Plans were developed for that and a planning application submitted. The indication that it would require road closure of South Parade and part of Hollywell Ash Lane together with the CPO of several houses and their demolition sealed its fate. Similar issues would have faced any proposal to extend the Bradford end. BFG had the sense to pull the planning application for extebding the main stand which was the right thing to do rather than have it formally turned down.

I doubt very much that any other plans to extend the capacity of VP nowadays could overcome those same concerns.
