Every single person pushing the stupid idea has a seat they are already more than happy with and wouldn't change to that stand if you gave them it free!

I think you’re right. If we reach the Championship there would be 75% of away teams who would fill Midland Road entirely. Just shift the 2000 home ST holders from there. I’m sure they’ll all find a good seat from the thousands we have empty. ;)

I guess as a magnanimous gesture you could offer to swap your seat for one in the Bradford End, as you follow this Holy Grail, of filling the stadium. Sure we have a few, who sit in the Midland Road, who would consider your prime seat as a reasonable alternative ?

When we got promoted to the prem, im sure away only had TL dallas ? The way the grounds configured at the moment is fine..

having away fans in the whole of midland road would be suicide, flashpoint is the NE corner..

F+G plus TL dallas is perfect for large away followings,

whats the point in spending thousands moving/building segregation gates.. dumb idea

I thought that was Liverpool, but I may be wrong.
But as you say that ended well!

It was Manchester United! In those days we were sat in Block F of the Main Stand in seats next to the then new North West Corner. At that stage Block F was the Family area. My younger daughter was then aged 10. The whole experience, with a small part of the dividing wall failing, and missiles coming down was awful.

There is a lot of sentiment in this, people become attached to what they see as their seat and the friendships they build up with people around them
As i said in another post , we are yet to see actual sell outs, but it is not completely out of site, with further progress.
The stadium was and is great, at this level and the division below. Championship could be a very different matter and if we get there and want to stay, the club have to look at all options
Or are people actually saying, as long as i keep my seat, i am quite happy to stay in the bottom two divisions.
We are not moving to a new stadium, and any re development will be extremely difficult. If the Bradford End could be adapted and used fully, i don't understand the problem and are all 3000 or so tickets in the middle road stand that home fans use sold to season ticket holders, if not and you want to stay in there , just move everyone on a bit.

We were further along in the upper middle of the Kop . It was a stupid idea based on grabbing as much income as possible . They didn’t have the ticketing systems and checks like today so the thought process was probably to avoid them getting tickets all over the ground ( easy when they don’t even come from Manchester;)) .If they were it could end up being mini riots all over VP and impossible to police.

The club have had better ideas, sat in the middle of the lower kop watching the carnage.
    As you say Money.

Away fans have an allocation, if they sell out , tough …Why should we worry when smaller clubs with small capacities offer us just a few hundred? . It’s a nice thought and I can see what the club are trying to do , but at the expense of goodwill moving people around, it WILL NOT WORK .

The current ground and its foibles isn’t “ broken” without absolutely massive expense being spent on something that’s NOT in our ownership, so why is there a thought process to “ fix it” ?

I sat in the Midland Road as soon as it was built. I have every sympathy for the ppl who sit there having to be moved to accommodate away fans.

if the club want City fans to sit in the Bradford end, then under no circumstances will they go willing to the Dallas stand. It sticks out like a sore thumb. They should pull it down build a modern stand more or less the same size: that we can build corners on in the future if we are able to

I think city are thinking of more home capacity and trying to stay within FL rules. 3 blocks MR is more or less 2000, which is the minimum i believe . if moving a barrier and some how getting better segregation than covering a few seats can achieve this, then they have to look at this. Freeing up A block in the main and kop 3 front rows will also help.

Hypothetically speaking as it will never get built, but building a stand of similar size would mean never getting a return on the investment. Infrastructure problems denotes why there has never been a large sized structure built on the 'Bradford End' since Valley Parade has existed.

In my view the Dallas stand in it is present incarnation is inferior and why would long term supporters who normally sit in the Midland Road Stand want to sit there? If you want City fans in both ends it comes at a price. @andyc@andyc has stated that it would cost millions so obviously it is not going to happen unless we have a construction company who are city fans and can do it on the cheap!

We have plenty of building company's in Bradford that can do it on the cheap, it probably would not gain a safety certificate though.

But you'll still have the segregation because both sets of fans are still sharing the stand. All you're doing is putting more of them in there, potentially making it harder to control and just sliding the netting on a block or two.

I haven't read one post regarding this yet that actually makes any sense in terms of making a tangible difference.
