Well it might if they continue with the tenner Tuesdays incentive where locally based fans who can get there and not afraid of some cold weather might take advantage of better seats if freed up?

Don’t worry pal I sleep easy. Just an observation that around 7000 fans don’t turn up for midweek games. Some will still argue that Sky+ hasn’t killed match day attendances.
Anything the club can do to improve that is welcomed.

Some facts to take into account.
    • Last home match, on a Tuesday evening, with the £10 offer, probably saw about 13,000 in the ground.
    • Despite it being a ‘Yorkshire Derby’, Rotherham only brought about 500.
    • The attendance was given as 18,187. So deducting the City Season Ticket holders and the visiting Rotherham supporters, about 1,500 POTD fans came to the match. I would anticipate the £10 offer led to a very minimal increase in attendance, if at all.
    • The real capacity of Valley Parade is around 24,100, due to segregation issues.
    • If Away Support are offered around 2,500 seats then there is still s huge number of seats not bought by home supporters.
    • City apparently sold 16,026 Season tickets. https://www.bradfordcityafc.com/news/2025/august/01/bantams-reach-16k-season-ticket-milestone/
    • If we take 2,500 away from 24,100. It leaves about 21,600 seats available.
    • Again if we take away 16,026 Season Ticket holders seats from the 21,600 seats, that means around 5,500 seats are free to ‘walk up’, casual, uncommitted fans.
    • In fact it is about one in four!
    • I am amazed that figure is not sufficient for those who occasionally come along.
    • If City had sold in excess of 20,000 Season Tickets, then the issue of looking at unoccupied seats may well be worth pursuing.
    • On a separate note, l was surprised that despite not having enough City (Loyalty) Points, to buy a Burton Away Ticket in either Day 1 or 2, and when they had gone on general sale to Season Ticket holders today, l was able to get two!
    • Sometimes the arguments about unoccupied seats and away priority washes a little thin! Not criticising the allocation system, but just feeling that this hardcore of ultra loyal supporters, who allegedly go to all games, is a smaller number in reality.
    • In my view there is no need whatsoever to get Season ticket holders to get in touch with the club, to say they won’t attend a match. A pointless exercise which won’t make any significant tangible difference to the sale of seats, whilst there are thousands of seats available.

Unlike some others on here, l occasionally get things wrong. Mea culpa.

However the general thrust of the point about number of free seats available to occasional attenders holds true.

There were still around 1,600 unsold tickets, and it was a visit of a promotion rival.

The 18,187 figure for the ‘usual’ price Rotherham game, was relatively poor.

I thought the attendance for Rotherham whilst being well down on Saturday was considerably up on usual Tuesday attendances

Well the ticket availability on a match by match basis tells a different story to the one you portray.
Let’s take this coming Saturday for example, if I’m a family of 4 looking to visit VP for the first time, please could you advise me where I can buy 4 together or even 2 together for that matter.
The only options are up in the gods of the main stand or back of upper kop.
That limited availability will put many people off especially at £25 per ticket.
Now if there were 4 seats next to each other in the lower main stand I’d be willing to bet they’d sell quickly.
Fast forward to 3pm Saturday and I will 100% guarantee I’ll be able to spot rows and rows with 4 empty seats next to each other. Why is that??

The club have probably recognised that this culture of buying a ST because they are cheap with the intention of hoarding the seat for the 6 games they attend is a problem.
The other fix which wouldn’t be fair on those that attend every game is to hike the prices so that it only gives the equivalent of a few free games. This would stop people buying a ST they barely use.

A quick look on the map and there is at least 50 opportunities for a family of four to sit together, haven't even started with the north west corner and main stand and there are way more tickets available there judging by the blue dots.

There will be plenty of 30 pound kids ticket, seats that never get used , great way to reserve a seat for the season , so a friend who wants to go to the odd game can go .

Dont see the problem in that until there are no seats available for pay on the day fans.

Surely better to have thousands of £30 in the coffers than nothing, plus if an adult wanted to go they have to upgrade the kids season ticket, so more revenue for the club.

You’re being a bit naive mate. Do you really think those kids tickets get upgraded? The turnstile operators on £3 an hour just scan the QR code. They don’t ask for your ID.
