Quite right, nobody is forced to buy them so early but as we do have a priority scheme in place only for the first 2 days of sale it actually does mean regular travellers who will want to attend have to buy now because Barnsley will be popular and will sell out.
I said the same with the Luton tickets, it doesn’t bother me too much because I’ll buy them as soon as on sale but it might affect others on tight budgets especially at the end of the month.
But apart from that, absolutely no issues.

All tickets for every home city game this season have been on sale from day one I believe.

I don't think this will become the same for away fans simply due to issues around loyalty points and allocations.

I suppose an argument may be that someone doesn't have enough points for a game but would have done had they gone on sale two weeks later but I imagine those instances are few far between (given others points would have gone up in that period also)

The City home tickets are on sale in 5 match batches.
. I have been making arrangements for our long weekend in Yorkshire around the final home match v Bolton. As they are not on the club website I contacted Mick Lamb and he advised that it will probably be mid March before they are available.

Ticket queue is a joke, I've been at checkout about 20 times and it keeps kicking me out. Grrr

    Must be your internet pal.
I'm in Suffolk with work and have the worst signal but can still access Barnsley tickets.

Try a complete shut down and deletion. Plug back in and restart. That normally clears any blockages.

Checkout was smooth for me - have you tried on your phone’s 4G?

There’s still plenty of tickets available.

Would your company block activity outside work related sites?

Maybe ring for them in that case? Better than missing out on another scintillating away performance.

Wonder if these will make it to general sale. They seem to be flying out.

Part timers going to their 2nd away game of the season. Haha.
Reading and Wycombe ticket queue is quiet though.
