First half not bad.

Second half we were pi ss poor. Far too much hoof ball. T. Wright is a dick and just a waste of space. Far too much diving.

Count ourselves lucky that Rotherham were not much better than us!

 

Worst game I've seen at home all season, but 3 points and a clean sheet will do nicely. Please, please can we turn up on Saturday and take something from Reading

 

Imagine had that gone in....a CB or CF would have buried that.

 

Think low 70s might be enough this season. 5 wins from remaining 13 could be enough for 6th.

Chasing pack going to need to win 8 or 9 games from their last 13.

IF Wheatley can time his runs better he could get a few goals this season.

Otherwise an instantly forgettable game.

 

I thought Alexander contradicted his own argument tonight.

He stresses the importance of managing minutes yet there were a few examples tonight of players would could have subbed at various points to save legs yet he chose not to.

He will argue that he had Jackson injury in mind when replacing Wheatley but surely the lad can manage 70 mins.

Humphrys for either pointon or sarcevic who were treading water would have been obvious to any sane follower

Another little grumble, I'll admit to not being tyreik wright biggest fan but what I will say is if he was turning out the constant tripe performances that neufville is doing at the matter the lad would be getting all manner of stick.

Whether Josh has got comfortable knowing halliday isn't there to replace him I don't know, but what I do know is, he needs his head out of his pronto

But what happens to team selection against Reading is vital to our season if GA has any sense nearly same team.And surely he’s very intelligent so can recognise failed footballers. And the team ethic of same 11 and high press can surely be continued Saturday against the best form team in the league. If he doesn’t make half the team unavailable like last Saturday. Not one for the purists but most important thing in them type of games is to get the 3 points.
Continues our incredible home record, since that mad week nearly 2 years ago we've played 43 home games winning 33, drawing 6 and losing 4, in that time we've only conceded 25 goals.

Last 4 seasons has seen 6th place finish in high 70s/low 80s but I can't see that being needed this season, 75 will be absolute most so 5 wins and a couple of draws from 13 will do it which should be more than achievable.

 

I like Wheatley as an athlete, but I'm already bored of him feathering it to their keeper.

I really do see a midfielder there.

 

Josh had a tough time again with being double marked most of the time,
BUT
Having said that a wing back can cut inside with the ball into space if the touchline is being squeezed
Saw Ashby do this on one of his rare outings and it is a shame he cannot even make the bench

Er, we've just had a midweek game Dave.

 

Uninspiring game but 3 points. Atmosphere dropped when Jackson went off, pitch was difficult to play on because of the uneven surface and we just didn't play through midfield. On to Reading now and I'd take a point all day long.

 

We can start the moan about our away form on Saturday if we get beat. Tonight just let’s concentrate on what is a magnificent home record and enjoy it

 

Burton's record this season against the top sides is ridiculous; 4 points against Cardiff and Huddersfield, 3 points over 2 games against Bolton and Stockport, 3 points with against us with a game still to play so out of their 39 points 17 have come against the top 6

 

We love a February midweek 1-0 home win.
Happens every year.

Baldwin was MOTM hands down. Lad was fantastic and the only player who showed composure on the ball

far as performances go, one of the worst. It was flat from start to finish, with the exception being a cracking cross from Wright and a quality header by Pennington

We only made 1 unforced sub in 90 minutes and that was for a player who got subbed on 20 mins in. Not a good look. Gonna end up hearing the “need to rest and rotate players” when we change half the lineup against Reading. How about make some changes tonight and keeping the lads fresh. Anyone of them, bar Tilt, Baldwin and Metcalfe could of been hooked

 

4 home wins on the trot 10 points clear in the play offs. Never going to be a classic on the heavy pitch but we never looked like conceding we are having an amazing season going for promotion rather than fighting relegation concentrate on the positives
