No team was worse than that Huddersfield team in 87/88, they’d lost 10-1 to an average Man City team that season and were miles adrift at the bottom of the league but they beat us 1-0. Then there’s Rochdale during Mark Hughes play off season they beat us 2-1 despite being doomed to relegation. Tranmere at home last season, it just happens to us a fair bit.

Seem to remember a few years back, Hartlepool hadn't won away since coming back to the EFL, hadn't won away infront of fans for about 2 years because of covid and including their old EFL stint, hadn't won away in a long while........ literally scored from the kick off and won either 3-0 or 3-1 at our place on a Tuesday night. We have a knack for having teams "find a way" to get back to it.

Even the past weekend, it was Wimbledons 2nd home win since the end of September.

That's why tonight is causing me anxiety. We do like to give a struggling side a helping hand!

Repeat ad nauseum, history must be telling lies . Teams fighting for relegation generally can’t or won’t play expansive football and as a result are far harder to break down … “ On paper” we should have battered Mansfield, Wimbledon , Burton and on and on, alas fans still spout the form book never lies . Well here’s news …it has and will continue to do so . No such thing as a nailed on 3pts . Even GA seems to have fallen in to the same trap? It’s disrespectful to swap half a winning team with fringe or squad players whilst making positional changes and still think we will be competitive against a team lower in the division who are desperate for points.

After the very poor performances from the manager to individual players against wimbledon i feel they will be up for it today.

I think it will be 2-0 to city by half time with the game ending 3-1 after 90

I also think we'll win but for some reason I keep imagining us conceding a penalty, not sure if its a premonition or gas.

Suspect Touray is just a precaution after his recent injury, rest of the side picks itself.

Only shock is who Rotherham are starting in goal, Ted Cann. He is in for his league debut at 25 years old. So far in his career he's played 23 games in the NLN, 2 clean sheets and 14 games in the National League, 4 clean sheets. He conceded 59 in his 31 games without cleansheets in the non-league divisions.

He's played 4 games in the EFL trophy this season, conceding 8. Inexperienced keeper thrown in at the deep end, reckon Mullin gets a shout if we are chasing in the second half, experienced sheet house.

I will probably get pelters for it (like I rightly did for saying Metcalfe isn't that good earlier in the season!), but for me, Touray is just a bog standard L1 defender. His attacking play is pretty poor, but defensively, he is consistent. I would say he's better at left centre back than wing back. I would be hoping we look to improve on him in the summer

I like him, he does get the odd dangerous cross in from the left and he interchanges well down that side.
The thing that grates me is that he will find touch more often than not when passing down the line.

Recent form says he should play on the left with Bobby, Tilt / Touray . Kelly not a chance should he be considered unless desperate. He doesn’t have the skills nor nous imho.

Don’t think the pitch will be thanking the groundsman for putting the sprinklers on.
