'Pointon was visibly shattered on Tuesday'. I'd be concerned if he wasn't. That should be a given. Sibley needs shipping back to Derby, not minutes.

 

Kelly absolutely wasn't to blame for yesterday's shambles. As I've said, if we accept that an element of rotation is needed, that should absolutely not apply to the back line which should be consistent. GA needs to decide what his best back line is, enforced absences permitting and then stick to it it. In that instance Kelly isn't first or possibly even 2nd change.
I agree he does have some attributes put putting him in a back 3 alongside 2 other "hoofers" is hanging them all out to dry.

 

Bobby isn’t performing away from VP , which is utterly bizzare when he’s on the whole great at VP. That’s why he was probably on the bench ?

 

Why does he need shipping back to Derby out of interest?

 

I think the first goal yesterday is a prime example. I know Joe Wright is out of favour, but if he was playing yesterday everyone knows that he is the one going for the header. Constantly changing the back three means they don't have that understanding.

 

Just had a thought ….who was it who said in the last few days or so, and he had people agreeing, that playing against
“ lesser teams” will be somewhat easy . Even to the extent of arguing against people who have seen it ALL before …..

Why wasnt GA turning to the bench late in the Stockport game? he left pointon on for 90 mins. Other than Jackson for Wheatley at HT he waited until the 94th minute to bring on Lapslie for Sarce.

humphrys and mullin were left on bench. Either could have been used to give Pointon a rest but it’s poor use of the subs from GA.

Mullin could have benefited too, rather than coming in from the cold to start at Wimbledon.

No such thing as an easy game for us whoever we play against. If we play our best available 11, and are 100% on it, we can compete against anyone. Go 2nd string, and are slightly off then we are vulnerable even against relegation fodder.

 

100% the team selection. No L1 team will get continuity and cohesion changing FiVE players AND playing two others somewhat out of position to accommodate . Leave that to irrelevant cup competitions but not the league .

How long does it take a 22 year old athlete to recover from 90 minutes exertion

 

Next day after a good nights sleep. The other half says. He played Saturday and Sunday non league. It never occurred to him to be fatigued. I don’t think he did much training either. Oh a run on Thursday night to keep him fit

 

Did you ban him from booze and nookie nights before Mrs O, to keep him in prize shape for the football?

 

I don’t know the specifics of Bobby’s fitness currently. I’d imagine the physio team at City do though. Maybe you know better?
