A very erudite original post. Balanced and offering a decent view. Perhaps you should also join WOTP?

Looking at teams still to visit VP, Rotherham, Orient, and Northampton may try to stifle City. Play for a draw and in effect ‘park the bus’.

Mansfield and Plymouth have outside chances of getting into the Play Offs. Whilst Stevenage may and Bolton should be in the Play Offs.

A lot will depend on the desire of the teams visiting. Will they just set up negatively or play an expansive game.

It is up to City to have the options and capacity to break down whatever the visitors bring to the match.

A lot of football to play over the remaining season.

Haha, me too! In fact if we lose tonight I'm gonna claim I was under the influence and not responsible for my views! :)

I think it will be a tougher game also, and much will depend on how well Evans slots in for Power. As long as we don't play like we did first half at their place, I'm sure we'll do okay.

I'm itching to see if we can maintain the press like we did for the whole match - that the key for me. Once we start dropping deep and backing off, that's when we look ordinary.

    Thanks!

I think we're better equipped to deal with the stubborn defences and bus parking now, but we need to maintain that press and intensity. GA has said a couple of times now too and the players seem to buy into it, which is why it feels to me like we've turned a corner.

We've obviously tried playing this way all season, but we have more quality now which makes it a little easier to execute.

Tonight will be very interesting to see if we can carry it on against a top team.

I'm not sure about writing blog posts though... I can't stand it when we lose and I'm a big sulker. I literally only sing when we're winning so if we lose or draw, then you wouldn't hear from me. :)

I can't see many of them reappearing, especially as a family friendly club these days... imagine Ryan Sparks' face if the stands were singing "you're gonna get your f***ing head kicked in!" (or the alternative version "you're going home in a f***ing ambulance") to the away end! He'd have a fit.

Hacksaws and hammers, hatchets and spanners i think, sounds more like my shopping list for Wickes
All distant memories now and confided to history, which is not a bad thing
Could never understand the desire to get involved in fisticuffs over a game of football.

Never heard it sung but an old fella once told me that he used to sing,

When I was walking down Elland way,
I saw a Leeds fan come my way.
I kicked him in the b0llocks and I made him say.
    B. C. F. C OK!

Form comes and goes, Huddersfield are finding that. In their last two games they haven't registered a shot on target against teams who's budgets would be lucky to be half what Town are spending combined. Not to mention they missed 4 penalties prior to this shotless run.

I worried about how we would do without Power last night but Evans did a job and Metcalfe once again proving he is one of the buys of the season.

Our run in sees us only play 3 of the top 10 teams in this league, where as Bolton have to play 8 of the top 10 teams in this league having already played 2 games more than us.

I think Lincoln and Cardiff are as good as up, and fair play to them they are the two best teams in the league. We just have to focus on finishing in the top six and the lottery of the play-offs and it is well within our grasp as we play all 4 relegation zone sides in the next six games.

6th Place has been secured with 77, 76 & 78 points in the last 3 seasons. So we are looking at 23 points or so in 15 games. 7 wins and 2 draws is very doable, especially with our home form.

Now Power's ban is behind us, Sarce is back and we have quick players up front in Jackson and Wheatley things are looking far better. This season will be a success from being promoted last year, but it would be wrong just to accept it as a success from whatever happens going forward, we have to look at it from the position we find ourselves in now and push on.

Isn’t Power suspended for the next game too?

Power is banned for the next game, but he has been playing like that yellow has been on his shoulders for weeks. When he comes back he should be at full "power" so to speak instead of 80%.

I think despite the ban hanging over him he was particularly excellent against Posh.

I was saying to the people who I sit with that it was probably a good thing he got that monkey of his back as there were times where he clearly had it on his mind. The referee probably did him the world of good with that Yellow.

The rest will also do him good for the run in. Next Tuesday when he is back he will have 13 games till the end of the season and no immediate ban over his head. I think we will get the best from him and that will only be good for our situation.

The new Town msnager probably ran into an ideal start us at home in our piss poor spell ,Luton at home with shocking away form and away at Peterbrough which we saw how bad they where ..............now there running into teams that have got there act together and are getting sussed out.
Looking at us now we look to be picking up again and i think that we will nail the play offs at least ;)

Wasn’t his booking for not retreating the 10yards at a free kick as well
We saw several last night and no player booked
At least it will be out of the way after Saturday and if we get a result, then no harm done

I look at our fixtures and I am not really worried one bit - yeh we had a sticky patch but the opposition was tough. We have made some pretty big changes to the squad, and the timing given the level of opposition at the time wasn't great. I think we probably need another 25pts from the last 14 games.

    Wimbledon (a)
    Rotherham (h)
    Reading (a)
    Leyton Orient (h)
    Port Vale (a)
    Wigan (a)

No reason why we cant be looking at 13-15pts there. Just need to improve that away form.

Id be absolutely delighted with 13-15 points but realistically the latter points total stated and believe this has to be a points tally we need to be looking for IF ( big if) we are going to chase down Lincoln for a potential automatic spot.
For reference, Lincolns next six to march 17th are
    Mansfield away
    Blackpool home
    Cardiff away
    Exeter away
    Stockport home
    Huddersfield away.

We have an extra game in this period playing Mansfield at home but ours on paper looks marginally more favourable. My hopes, we can be c4-5 points behind them come March 17th.
