I was worried about Evans before the game. I thought he did ok though. He seemed to be in the right place a lot but is definitely rusty.

It wasn’t a game of quality but we got the job done.

Apparently an ex Sunderland CEO was in attendance?

Was very surprised at their approach.

How they played against us in the first half at Stockport and how they played tonight were chalk and cheese.

Very much like the indifference we have had in recent weeks

It was almost like they knew they aren't catching Cardiff or Lincoln so came for a spoiling point to make sure they didn't lose playoff ground.

2nd home game this season where Tilt has picked up an early yellow card and looked like a certainty to pick up a 2nd but recovered and looked very calm. If he didn't have his injury I have no doubt he would be the top of the table for yellow cards. He's currently on 8 despite only playing 17 games and 6 games from the cut off for 10 so looking unlikely he escapes a 2 game ban especially as he's on a run of 3 in 3.

Vital 6 points over the last 2 games and it should go a long way to calming down any talk of this season drifting away into a midtable finish. We given ourselves a huge chance of getting a top 6 finish but need to pick up 2 or 3 away wins to ease the pressure at home with some tough games still to come like Plymouth, Stevenage and Bolton.

Lee was much better off the ball than on it!

Some good defensive work, but that passing... you could see it was his first start and he didn't seem to know where to look or who to pass to, meaning they went astray in such a quick paced game.

    6/10.

Proper display and result. Tilt ragging their CF first half was a joy to watch. Literally bullied him. Metcalfe played like Pattison early doors chomping at the bit to press and nick the ball. They were a good side at this level. We can live with the playoff teams now we have reinforcements. Lincoln for me are the best side I’ve seen and will take some catching but one game at a time. City his its mojo back

Not a 30 yard screamer but a screamer just the same, in the back of the net as the keeper dived for a lost cause, we'll do a crowd funding then you can stay out there mate.

Saturday was fantastic but in reality there was no way that it would be repeated tonight against Stickport, it was all about 3 points, I thought if either team was going to get all 3 points it would be us, if we can keep our home form up it will give us that little bit of leeway away from Valley Parade.

It wasn't just the finish but the touch with the right foot to set it up was perfect to get it onto his left foot and away from the defender giving the defender no chance of making a block.

In my opinion the kid Metcalfe was right up there again for MOTM but I won't knock whoever chose Bobby at times he thinks too fast for his team mates, I'm afraid if these two continue to improve as they have done during this season I've no doubt bigger clubs will come calling.

Two or three tackles in , a booking each and County’s star forward from Scotland was a terrified whimp !

I’m all for it, hopefully they bring the club big money and we can continue to watch their careers develop and flourish. I’m all for being a club that young talented players feel they can come to and improve and go into have a good career. It’s something we’ve very rarely done.

Dare l say that it was worse after the match? M62 closed from Ainley Top to Outlane. Everything diverted off.
It took me 50 minutes longer than usual. Sitting on the M62 is hell. Still had the ‘afterglow’ from the win.
It must have been even more of a hell for the Stockport supporters, returning on a loss, then the journey taking so long.
I guess the journey was exceptionally long for yourself? Hope you got back okay.

Not sure why he should be rusty, that was apparently his 34th appearance this season. https://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=64634

That was a terrific victory. Guts, determination, skill. City seem like they are a real band of brothers. How enjoyable is this season. Sure, we had a sticky patch in January, but no-one can win all the time. Huge credit to GA, CL, the staff and the whole recruitment team. There’s always some moaners, but honestly, what an amazing job they have all done. The character of this squad and club is just brilliant. The progress over the last two seasons has been amazing.

He wasn't playing for us though. I get the impression that our fitness / energy demands are light years greater than that of some other clubs, notably those struggling.

I got a superb stroke of luck. I had to take my son home and his missus to Halifax, so missed that M62 choas - only getting caught in it at Ainley Top, but could divert easily around to where I live (nearby).
