One things for sure they get very little service.

 

Couldn't agree more. The issue is if the wing backs play as full backs, the central two are overun. And unfortunately they don't play as wingbacks against the best in his league (i.e. Luton, Lincoln, Hudds) because they are up against better players.

Great point about Tilt. Whilst everyone's been caught out with these better team, he has more than most. Wasn't particularly good against Doncaster either.

 

Alexander needs to stop being so naive in his approach to away games. We cannot continue to play a two man midfield away to sides like this who have players of the calibre of Kasey Palmer who ran the show in his sleep.

Power has been terrible for months and Metcalfe is having to do two men's jobs in there. The first goal is a situation we are commonly vulnerable from because we dont have the midfield numbers to effect the neat interplay on the edge of the box.

Its no surprise we looked better when we went 3-5-2.

 

Perhaps because they haven't over impressed, game time and in training - shame Sharpe wasn't pressed on this at Forum as they came in very early but not deemed good enough at present

 

I feel sorry for our players because most of them are far better than they're allowed to show. To put it simply, our system no longer works and hasn't for months, but the manager can't see that. The same thing happens over and over again but nothing changes. To make matters worse we've recruited players in the window to fit into the system and that's not going to improve things a jot either. Fans of other clubs tell us what the players we've signed can and cannot do, and they're right, but we still stubbornly persevere with trying to play to a pattern that negates their strengths rather than exploiting them. It smacks of either naivety or stupidity. I think that Graham has enjoyed a fair chunk of luck in the last year and now it's well and truly run out.

 

Because they're not good enough and not better than anyone that played today.

 

Not by continually playing like that.

The Mullin signing was a complete waste of time if Alexander isn’t going to change. We have 3 fit strikers with Swan to come back. There is absolutely no reason to not give 2 up top a go.

 

Looking at how easily our rivals are scoring, we dont stand a chance IMO.

We are tepid, and so many new players wont help for a while imo.

I think my preseason prediction of 10th is going to come to fruition, but maybe a little higher if we keep winning at home.

 

Forget about promotion - we may scrape a play off place but those around us have far more quality.

Winter recruitment doesnt look good enough and Alexanders stubborness is also causing problems. Us mere fans can see 2 in the middle isnt working against the better teams and here we are 5 defeats in 7 and nothing has changed.

 

I don't trust use to break teams down to pick up enough points really. Peterborough will get something out of next week.

7/8 minutes in he talks about an extra man in midfield but he doesn’t have midfield on his back. I think he means any other player can step forward to help out in midfield. I might not have understood but it seems strange.

 

Touray is far better than Tilt at LCB in a back 3.

 

In my opinion we were far better today than the previous away games where we were so passive. At least today we tried to press and GA says in his post match interview that inevitably leaves space.
I thought it looked so much better with Sarcevic Humphrey and Wheatley and we could have snatched something

 

It was a bit like the Cardiff home game, where we left ourselves with too much to do.

We didn't look awful by any means, but for long periods we were just toothless.

Both games we sorta looked like on a different day we could have salvaged something, but we're just not getting the starting XI's right in these big games, and we're having to make umpteen changes to try and salvage a point.

Again, I'm not too despondent, I think we're competitive, but we're starting to realize that other sides in this division are just better or at least, more established with a more robust set of tactics from the off.

This season will be a good springboard, however, if the club and fanbase can keep it's head.

I was encouraged with the second half performance. Their 2nd goal, against the run of play at that time, just gave us too much to do against a good team.
